As the evening progressed, the rain showed no signs of letting up. The heavy downpour had reduced visibility to almost zero, making it impossible for anyone to safely travel outside. The wind howled through the streets, and the occasional flash of lightning illuminated the darkened sky. Inside Tia's cozy apartment, the atmosphere was a stark contrast to the stormy chaos outside.

Evan glanced out the window, concern etched on his face. "Wow, the rain is really coming down," he remarked, turning back to Tia. "It looks like I might be stuck here for a while. Driving in this weather would be too risky."

Tia nodded, sharing his concern. "Yeah, it's pretty bad out there. The roads must be flooded, and it's hard to see anything with this heavy rain."

Evan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I guess I should call a cab, but even then, it might take forever to get here, and the ride wouldn't be safe."

Tia put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry about it, Evan. You're welcome to stay here until the rain eases up. I've got a spare room, and it’s much safer than trying to navigate through this storm."

Evan looked relieved and smiled gratefully. "Thanks, Tia. I really appreciate it. I guess it’s a good thing your dad left those extra clothes."

She chuckled, nodding. "Yeah, I think so too. It's like he knew something like this would happen."

As the rain continued to pour, Tia decided to cook dinner for both of them. She headed to the kitchen, rummaging through the pantry and fridge for ingredients. Evan followed her, leaning casually against the kitchen counter, watching her with a relaxed smile.

Tia glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "You’re just going to stand there and watch me cook?"

Evan grinned, folding his arms. "Well, I could offer to help, but I wouldn’t want to mess up your masterpiece," he teased, his eyes sparkling with amusement.

Tia chuckled, rolling her eyes. "Nice excuse. But honestly, you’re probably right. I have my own rhythm in the kitchen. You’d just get in the way."

Evan laughed, holding up his hands in mock surrender. "Fair enough. I’ll stay out of the way and just... observe the artist at work."

As Tia chopped vegetables and prepared the meal, Evan continued to watch her, a soft smile on his face. He admired how focused she was, her movements confident and graceful. There was something soothing about the way she worked, and he found himself appreciating this quieter, domestic side of her.

After a few minutes, Tia glanced up and caught Evan staring at her. She paused, raising an eyebrow. "What? Do I have something on my face?"

Evan shook his head, smiling warmly. "No, nothing like that. I was just... appreciating the view," he said with a playful tone.

Tia smirked, shaking her head as she stirred the pot on the stove. "Smooth," she replied sarcastically. "But seriously, you’re going to give me a complex if you keep staring like that."

Evan chuckled, leaning a little closer. "I can't help it," he said, lowering his voice. "You're kind of mesmerizing when you're in your element."

Tia felt a slight blush creeping up her cheeks. She turned her attention back to the stove, trying to hide her smile. "You know, flattery will get you nowhere," she quipped, adding a pinch of salt to the dish.

Evan shrugged, still grinning. "Maybe not, but it's worth a shot," he teased. "Besides, it's not flattery if it's true."

Tia shook her head, amused by his persistence. "You're impossible, you know that?"

"Part of my charm," Evan replied, leaning back against the counter again. "But seriously, thanks for cooking. It smells amazing."

Tia smiled, feeling a mix of amusement and warmth. "You're welcome. It's the least I can do, considering you're stuck here because of the storm."

As she plated the food, Evan moved to the small dining table, helping her set it up. They sat down to eat, the sound of rain providing a soothing background to their meal. The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and light-hearted banter.

Throughout dinner, Evan found himself continually drawn to Tia's presence. He admired her wit, her passion, and the way she seemed to light up even the stormiest of days. Tia, on the other hand, appreciated Evan's genuine nature and how he managed to make her feel comfortable and at ease.

As they finished their meal, Tia stood to clear the dishes, but Evan quickly intervened. "Hey, you cooked, so I'll handle the cleanup," he insisted, taking the plates from her.

Tia smiled, touched by the gesture. "Thanks," she said, her voice softening. "That's really sweet of you."

Evan shrugged, giving her a cheeky grin. "Just trying to rack up some brownie points," he joked, heading to the kitchen.

Tia laughed, shaking her head. "You're doing a decent job," she admitted, leaning against the doorway as she watched him.

Evan looked back at her, his expression softening. "Good to know," he replied with a smile. "Good to know."
