"Everest...I-I love you, I've always loved you since the first day we met. It's like my eyes were set on you and I had already picked out my future wife...you. I mean you are so beautiful, brave, adventurous and the list goes on. Everything about you is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing about you...I love you Everest."
Meet Marshall, the funniest and clumsiest Dalmation in the world, he was the firefighter pup in the Paw Patrol. Currently, he was asking out Everest... in the mirror practicing. He had been practicing confessing to the husky for years now but could never seem to find the confidence to do so.
However he knew his time would come very soon, all he needed to do was wait. He had time, it's not like he would need to confess anytime soon anyway. All the pups were still young and nobody else was going to steal Everest in the first place.
The others, Rocky, Zuma, Rubble, and Chase, all knew about Marshall's crush on the Husky and agreed not to go after Everest. Marshall had technically called dibs on her and the other pups didn't really think they had a shot with her anyway.
"Hey Marshall, I heard you practicing. How's it going?" His best friend Chase walked in on him, disrupting Marshall's practice.
Marshall gave out a deep sigh, it sounded overdramatic, just like in those movies when someone does it just so they can get the attention of another person.
"I don't know Chase, part of me feels like I'm ready to just go out there and confess to her-"
"So do it," Chase said cutting him off.
"Hey asshole let me finish," Marshall said as Chase just gave him a smirk. "Then part of me feels like this isn't a great idea and I should just give it more time."
"Remember when I asked out Skye a month ago," The Dalmatian nodded. "Now look at us, we're happily together and living our best life. You could have that too if you just told Everest how you really feel about her."
Marshall looked at the ground in defeat. He knew Chase was right and didn't deny that at all, but he knew that Chase wasn't as shy as he was so it was a lot easier for him. Plus Skye gave Chase so many hints that she liked Chase back, meanwhile, Everest didn't really show any signs to Marshall that she liked him.
"Chase you're not as shy as I am,"
"That doesn't mean I wasn't nervous Marshall, I was in the same boat as you were. I loved Skye for years you know."
"But Skye gave you hints that she likes you back, I really haven't seen Everest give me a hint yet, or a sign."
"Look you have to think about the positives, think about it this way. She's also nervous as well and doesn't want anyone to know that she likes you and is also shy to confess or even show a sign."
"Or maybe she just sees me as a friend and doesn't send me a sign because she doesn't see me that way."
"I literally just said not to think about the negatives."
"Well, that's all I think about because it's the most common outcome."
"I don't think that's true. I mean look at all the happy couples in the world, those are all positives right?"
"Yeah but the difference is they both liked each other, and Everest probably doesn't like me back."
"Listen, I'm too tired to argue but I just want you to remember this, if I never confessed to Skye, I'd still be single and practicing in front of a mirror," Chase said as he walked out the door.
"That kinda felt like a dick move at the end of that sentence but what does he know, confessing is so much easier said than done. I don't get how people can just walk up to someone and just confess their love to them without being nervous. Maybe...I'll never get the confidence to tell Everest I love her."
