𝐀 𝐋𝐎𝐓 𝐇𝐀𝐒 𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐄 the Cullens disappeared and none of it was exactly good. At first, Elizabeth had imagined both hers and Bella's lives becoming less complicated and dangerous. And while the dangerous part of their lives has somewhat lessened, the vampires having left, the complicated part still stands

Nothing got simpler.

Elizabeth blamed it all on trauma. What her and Bella went through in that ballet studio was traumatizing and Elizabeth doubted that they'd ever truly recover from it.

And because of all that unsaid trauma, the two girls were practically being forced to go out into the world and communicate again. All because Bella was about to be shipped back to Arizona if something didn't change. Now, Elizabeth still socialized, she wasn't depressed, she just preferred to remain in the comfort of her room or out exploring the woods and her magic like abilities at night. Which was something she was definitely not supposed to be doing.

Elizabeth could remember the nights she'd spend in Bella's room instead of walking through the woods. Unfortunately those nightly conversations her and Bella used to have don't exactly exist anymore since Bella had become more distant and easily irritated. Elizabeth sometimes wondered if a part of Bella blamed her for the Cullens abrupt departure.

There were only a few reasons she could think of. One, the hatred she held for Edward and well that was pretty much the only reason she could think of. It was a dense reasoning but it was a reasoning nonetheless. Maybe Bella believed that if Elizabeth had been nicer, he would have stayed— not feeling so pressured to leave.

So it was safe to say her and Bella weren't on that great of terms— that meaning Elizabeth was more alone now. She still had Jacob and sometimes Embry but she missed her relationship with Bella dearly. Things with Embry are just, how should she say this... complicated.

Everything was beginning to weigh down on her and she had found that if someone were to ask her to describe her life in one word she'd definitely use the word complicated.

So the night Bella went out with Jessica, Elizabeth had Charlie drop her off at Jacob's. She had spent that evening talking and joking with both Billy and Jacob. All the while drinking their fridge dry of Cherry Cola's without a thought of the dangers that lurked out in the darkness. It was an evening well spent. In fact, she had been in such a chipper mood she had went home with a smile and had woke up with one.

And when she had gotten to school, a smile still on her face, she had heard the news from Jessica about what Bella had done. Her smile immediately vanished, like it had never even been there in the first place.
