CHAPTER 6: TUTORIAL ISLAND

Previously:

"Oh great where did I teleport to in my fear rage? I remember seeing Evelyn standing over me and Azazel was lying on the ground I think he was injured." Then it came back to me

"SON OF A-"

[Hello host and welcome to the Training Island. My name is Link and this is your starting point here in your new world. The beastsworld.]

I stop mid-curse and blink a few times at the fluffy rabbit in a bow tie that has magically appeared in front of me, who seems to be talking as if it's completely normal.

<<Did I hit my head too hard when I fell?>>

Astrid POV

I blink a few times, trying to make sense of what I'm seeing. <<What on earth is this? I'm still in my party clothes. On the beach. Talking to a rabbit.>>

It's a small black rabbit sitting on its hind legs, with long, fluffy ears with white tips and its front paws are also white, making it look like it's wearing little socks. The contrast between the black fur and the white accents is oddly charming, but its completely black eyes are a bit unsettling. To top it off, the rabbit is wearing a red bowtie adorned with tiny arrows pointing in various directions.

<<Did he just talk? Guide for what? Training Island? And did he mention a new world?>> I ask myself in disbelief.

I look at this rabbit like it's got two heads. Urging it to continue because I don't even know where to begin. On a scale from 1-10 on the weirdness scale the slider fell off when it zoomed past 10.

The rabbit's ears twitch as if it's aware of my confusion. [Yes, yes, you heard me correctly!] It says in a surprisingly cheerful voice. [Welcome to the Beastsworld! I'm Link, your guide here on Training Island. We have a lot to cover, so let's not waste any time.]

I try to process this. "Beastsworld? Training Island? I don't even know how I got here. The last thing I remember, I was..."

I trail off, trying to recall the chaotic events that led me here. The image of Azazel's lifeless body flashes in my mind, and my heart aches. I look around, hoping this is just a dream, but the warm sand beneath my butt and the distant roar of the waves suggest otherwise. Link hops closer, his bowtie bouncing with each movement.

[Ah, I see you're overwhelmed. It's quite a lot to take in. You're here because your power has drawn you to this place. This island is a special training ground made specifically for you and your extraordinary abilities. It's where you'll refine your skills and prepare for the challenges ahead.]

I raise an eyebrow. "Challenges? What kind of challenges?"

Link's eyes gleam with a hint of mischief. [Oh, you'll see soon enough. The island is full of trials designed to test and enhance your powers. But don't worry, you won't be alone. There are others here who will help you along the way.]

As he speaks, I notice various structures and training areas scattered across the island. In the distance, there are lush forests, rocky mountains, and what looks like a large training arena.

"Okay, pause. Before we move on, I need some questions answered. So, you said my power was what brought me to this place. 1) Why? And how? 2) 'Tutorial Island' Why do I have to go through some tutorial? And 3) What happened to my original world? Oh no, I didn't destroy it like the oracle said I would, did I?" I start to panic. The fear is rising; I can feel it.
