I caught up to Sarada pretty quickly. We had kept walking for a few more hours until the sun started to set. We found a cave in an opening in the forest next to a river, we set up camp and sat around a fire thinking about what to do next.
"So here we are in the woods, just like you wanted Boruto. Now enlighten me on how you plan on spreading our name in the world."
"It's simple really, we just have to take jobs and solve peoples problems." I say as I stand up.
"Whose problems though? There's no civilization for miles."
"Actually there a small town just south of here full of opportunity, it's a crime infested town full of mobsters, thieves, and ex-Shinobi. Perfect for us to find something."
Sara's looked up at me with an unconvinced look on her face. I could tell she's kind of opposed to the idea of going to a crime infested town. I mean I am too but if we're going to make a name for ourselves then we need opportunity.
"Ugh I guess, so are we leaving for there tomorrow?" Sarada asks also standing up.
"Nope, actually I think it would be more beneficial if we stayed here for a while and trained. The place is full of killers and people who have no regard for our lives, we can't just walk in there and expect no trouble so we should make sure we have the means to survive."
"I see, that's smart. I agree, let's stay here for a few weeks and train with eachother."
Yeah that's really our only choice, we'd be sliced up like a turkey if we just walked in there the way we are now.
-1 week later-
Everyday me and Sarada start by hunting and fishing for food, gathering firewood, and training our chakra for a few hours. Then we get into weapons training, I had set up a few training dummies out of logs I found and we used them for target practice. After that we finished training with combat training. We'd start by sparring hand to hand, I was slightly better at taijutsu than Sarada was so I'd win most of the time. But when it came to Jutsu training, Sarada by far surpassed me. I had guessed it was something with her being an Uchiha.
We would end our day by taking turns bathing in the river. Sarada would go first and I'd be forced to go inside the cave and wait for her to return.
-2 weeks later-
It was starting to become more cold where we were as winter season had started. So we started sleeping in the same sleeping bag, putting our backs to each other to generate more heat. It wasn't anything sexual, we both saw it as just a necessity of the cold. Though I couldn't help myself but to think about the fact that we were so close you know.
-4 weeks later-
We had got fed up with sleeping on the hard ground even with the sleeping bags, so we worked together to create a bed out of wood and the fur of some animals we had hunted. When I offered to make Sarada her own bed she refused and instead made it clear that she will be sleeping next to me every night from now on. I of course had no objections.
-6 weeks later-
The little cave we had was starting to look like a real home, only problem was we got too comfortable and every week a few bandits would come trying to rob and kill us. They were light work, we made use of them as training and had no real problems with them all in all.
I could feel the growth in power as we have been training our asses off for a month now, getting better everyday.
-7 weeks later-
Sarada had the grand idea of creating a bath just like we had back home and heating it with fire jutsu. I could agree more as the ice cold baths we were having was starting to get old.
We put it together pretty easily and would you guess Sarada had another idea. She says that the thing is too big for just one person at a time and that we should bathe together as long as I keep my hands to myself. It felt a little I don't know... Pervy, but I had no reason to refuse. Though I'm kinda noticing a pattern now.
-8 weeks later-
We had become a lot stronger and could tell we weren't gonna be pushovers whenever we enter the crime town. So that settles it, after tonight we're gonna enter the city and find work. I have to admit it's gonna be a bit sad leaving our little home we made together behind, I'm really proud of this place. But nonetheless I have a goal so I must chase it. I want to be free, free from all leaf shinobi ideals.
Tomorrow the legend of the great Boruto Uzumaki begins!
