"Just A Simple Protection Job"

-Narrator-
Boruto and Sarada had awaken at dawn to go and meet with the mysterious Sir Benimaru.

After having arrived he had debriefed them about his "under the table job" he wanted them to escort a princess of a distant land to her uncle about a half days walk west.

They agreed as he offered to pay them quite well and after making the necessary preparations, Boruto went to go meet the princess.

-Boruto POV-

I think now would be a good time to say that I'm not the best with kids, I mean Himawari hated me all the way up until she could walk. And even then we weren't all that close. I hope this won't be annoying.

I arrived at this little hut outside of the village, I opened the door and this older lady wearing a maids outfit answered.

"Oh you must be sir Boruto?" She settled clapping her hands together

"Yes mamn, I'm here for uhh lady Eleanor"

"She's just in her room, down the hall to the left." She let me in.

I walked in and down the hall, I knocked on the door a few times but no one answered. I could hear some ruffling around though so I was confused.

"What the hell do you want!?" Yelled a voice from the other side

"Lady Elenor? I'm your escort Boruto Uzumaki, it's time to go!"

She half opened the door and I could see her one green eye. "Hmm, Uzumaki huh? Dont look like much if you ask me."

I frowned, who does this little shit think she is?

"*Sigh* could you please come out, my partner is waiting on us and I would like to get this over with soon as possible."

"No, I don't wanna go with my uncle I think I'd rather stay here!" She said trying to slam the door in my face.

I put my foot in the way and pushed to door open. I walked in and looked down at her, she had two different colored eyes? Green and brown huh, weird. Anyways I don't have the patience for this so we need to go.

"We're leaving NOW little girl." I grab her with one arm and proceed towards the door.

"Oh my-" the maid says as I walk out.

"Thanks for letting me in mamn, bye now." I say walking past her.

The whole way to the front gate, the little girl kept kicking and screaming, the whole town gave me dirty looks like I was the villain here, she is so embarrassing.

I see Sarada waiting for me by the gate and I walk up to her still holding Lady Eleanor.

"Uhh Boruto, why are you holding that little girl like that?" Sarada asks confusingly

"Because this little pain in the ass wouldn't leave unless I did."

"I am NOT A PAIN IN THE BUTT MISTER!" Eleanor chimes in.

"Listen here brat." I put her down infront of me "I agreed to escort you to your uncle on MY birthday by the way so that you can be safe from whatever bullshit you ran away from the castle for, so please don't be an asshole kay?." I said with an angry smile on my face.

She simply turned her head and began walking out the gate. Sarada shrugged and followed behind her. This is going to be a longggggg day.

We had been walking for a few hours only encountering a few bandits here and there which we dealt with swiftly.

Eleanor had gotten tired from walking so she asked to stop in a nearby town for a nap. I was against it at first but Sarada had just accepted that if we go along with what she wanted this would go easier. She kept using the excuse "it's just a simple protection job" and that ticked me off a bit but whatever.

We were just about to buy a room when a bunch of swordsmen ran in surrounding us. I was completely out of patience by this point so in one quick slash of my new sword I ended them all. We got a free room after that performance also heh.

We got into our rooms and came up with the idea that Eleanor could nap for 2 hours, I would leave an hour early to scout while Sarada stayed behind with her. It was a good plan and so that's what we did. After resting for an hour I left to scout ahead fighting a few more bandits try at crossed my path.

While fighting, I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching me. My senses almost never failed me so I knew something was up. I stopped in a field overlooking a waterfall a few miles from the town Sarada was in.

I couldn't see anything, maybe this time I was wrong. I was just about to turn back when a felt something sharp enter my back through my chest. I felt that familiar warmth and coldness as when I lost my eye. He missed my vitals so I wasn't seriously hurt but I was more curious than anything.

I can tell that this guys trouble.
