heeseung secretly liked ahrin, all his friends knew but no one ever told anyone else.
he was the popular guy as many people had a crush on him, but he never had interest in anyone... until she showed up. aside from them being sworn enemies, he couldn't help it.

as every moment and day passed by, he felt more and more attracted to ahrin.

[HEESEUNG'S POV]
i watched as ahrin walked by me during homeroom again, with her usual snarky sneer at me. i know i probably shouldn't, but i find it endearing. is that wrong? oh my god im a simp.

"Gosh... she's really beautiful." i mutter under my breath, as one of my best friends, jay, gives me the hardest side eye at the desk next to me.

"Dude. Get a grip, she doesn't even like you..." jay mumbled to me with an annoyed scoff.

i know he's right, but i can't help myself, she just magically catches my attention, is that wrong..? i lean my head on the palm of my hand as my thoughts are filled with her.
i fear i think of her maybe a little too much.

[CHOI AHRIN'S POV]
i walk into my homeroom again with a smile. my eyes make their way to heeseung, the enemy i've had since the seventh grade. i walk by him, turning my head to blind him with my usual attitude-filled sneer. he always looks at me for some reason, so annoying.

it's like he likes me. goddamn.

i walk my way to my seat next to my friend, wonyoung.

"hey girl!" she says, as i sit down in the chair. "hey," i reply back with a smile. she's so kind. she's like... the kindest person in the world. though although she has this... certain look whenever heeseung is near me. it's more of this unexplainable one, it's negative though. i guess we're on the same page with heeseung then.

i too, would give heeseung a look if he was near me.
if he tripped, i wouldn't help but laugh. maybe i just hate him. ugh.

[THIRD PERSON POV]
the homeroom teacher, Mr. Jinyoung Park (stan jypapi), struts to the front of the class, turning on the smart board, showing a presentation. that old hag clears his throat as the class turns their attention to him, well at least most of them... oop.

"Class, i would like to announce an event." mr. jyp states, putting his hand on his hip as the class finally looks at him. with the tap of his finger, the slideshow displays the word "prom 2024" in big letters.

"the highschool will be introduced to prom this year. it is optional that you attend, as you may just do work in a random classroom instead." he says, as some students groaned, knowing damn well they would rather just attend than do some work.

"i suggest you all dress nicely and properly. nothing too revealing, as we still must apply the dress code. we will have food, music, dance breaks, and prom duo voting and winning." mr. jyp said, tapping thru slides.

by hearing the word of "winning", ahrin's attention was drawn almost immediately. she loved the sound of winning. the glory and victory of it all, always added to her ego. now she definitely wanted to go. she wasn't even that interested in love!

[LEE HEESEUNG]
once i heard "prom duo", my heartbeat rose up. this could be a chance i ask out ahrin!
i love her, really. although she might say no, it's alright... right? i'd rather shoot my shot than not take that chance.

i notice sunghoon looking at me, as he scoffed. "what?" i mumbled, raising my eyebrows.

"bet your lovey-dovey ass is planning to ask ahrin out." sunghoon whispered, shaking his head with sass. my eyes widened momentarily.

damn, was i really that obvious?

i awkwardly smiled and let out a low chuckle. "maybe i am, why?" i whisper back, as sunghoon's eyes narrowed. "imagine if she says no, bro." he muttered, crossing his arms.

"hey, don't jinx it!" i say, feeling a bit ticked off. that did seem a bit real though,
...what if she says no?
