Eros Letter from Prison
Lev woke up the morning after the bachelorette party with a pounding headache. Groaning, she turned over and noticed a note on her bedside table. It was from Dr. Luke:
"Lev, I asked the chef to prepare hangover soup for you. I bet you don't remember what happened last night. Anyway, love you more. I'm at Seoul Hospital. See you later."
As Lev read the note, flashes of the previous night started coming back to her. Feeling a mix of curiosity and concern, she immediately picked up her phone and called Dr. Luke. He answered after three rings.
Hello, honey. How are you feeling?" he asked, his voice warm and comforting.
"Hi, honey," Lev replied, rubbing her temples. "My head hurts. I just woke up. I didn't do anything embarrassing last night, right?"
Dr. Luke chuckled softly. "No, all of your friends were just having fun."
Lev sighed in relief. "Thank God. Wait, how did I get home? And what about my friends?"
Dr. Luke's tone turned more serious. "Well, fortunately, we ended up at the same bar as you. There was a group of guys trying to harass you all since you were intoxicated. But don't worry, they didn't get a chance. We fought them off, and they're now at the police station."
Lev was shocked. "Oh my goodness! Thank you, honey. I can't believe that happened. I'm going to eat breakfast now. Love you more."
"Love you more and miss you. See you later," Dr. Luke replied, his voice filled with affection.
Lev hung up, feeling grateful for Dr. Luke's protective presence. She made her way to the kitchen, where the chef had prepared the promised hangover soup. As she sipped the soothing broth, she felt a wave of gratitude for her friends and her loving fiancee.
While Lev was savoring the hangover soup, the housekeeper approached her with a letter. The envelope looked official and had an air of urgency about it. Lev's curiosity piqued as she took the letter and carefully opened it. As she unfolded the paper, her heart skipped a beat when she saw the sender: EROS, her ex.
The letter was brief but laden with significance:
"Dear Lev,
I would like to speak with you in person.
Eros."
Lev stared at the words, her mind racing. Eros, the man she had once loved deeply, was now in prison, and he wanted to see her. A mixture of curiosity and fear coursed through her. Why now? What could he possibly want after all these years?
She set the letter down and took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves. Memories of their tumultuous relationship flooded back. It had ended badly, and she had moved on, finding peace and happiness with Dr. Luke. But Eros's sudden reappearance in her life threatened to stir up old emotions and unresolved issues.
She excused herself from the table, stepping out onto the balcony where the sea breeze provided a moment of calm. Opening the letter, her eyes quickly scanned the text. It was from Eros, an old acquaintance she hadn't heard from in years, now serving time. He wanted to talk to her in person.
Lev felt a knot tighten in her stomach. Eros's name brought back a flood of memories—some she preferred to keep buried. She dialed Dr. Luke, her fiancée wanting to hear his voice, seeking his reassurance. But the call went to voicemail; he was likely in surgery, saving a life as always.
Unable to reach him, Lev decided to text instead:
"Honey, I just received a letter from prison. It's from Eros. He wants to talk to me in person. I'm going there now to check what he wants from me. I've recovered from my hangover. Love you, Lev."
