Long Distance Starts..

The time had come. Today was the day of Lev's flight to Canada. The sun had barely risen, casting a soft, melancholic light over the city as Dr. Luke and Lev drove to the airport in silence. Their hearts were heavy with the impending separation, but they held onto the hope that their bond was strong enough to survive the long distance.

As they pulled up to the terminal, Lev glanced at Dr. Luke, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Dr. Luke turned off the engine, and for a moment, they sat in the car, holding hands and drawing strength from each other.

Promise me we'll keep in touch every day," Lev said, her voice trembling slightly.

"Of course," Dr. Luke replied, squeezing her hand. "We'll get through this. I promise."

They stepped out of the car, the weight of the moment pressing down on them. Lev grabbed her suitcase, and they walked into the bustling airport together, the noise of travelers and announcements creating a surreal backdrop to their private goodbye.

At the entrance to the security checkpoint, Lev turned to Dr. Luke and threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly. He held her just as fiercely, neither wanting to let go. Finally, Lev pulled back slightly and looked up at Dr. Luke, her eyes filled with love and determination. She leaned in and kissed him on the lips, a deep, intimate kiss that spoke of all the things they couldn't say in words.

Dr. Luke kissed her back, pouring all his emotions into that moment. When they finally parted, he rested his forehead against hers. "We'll survive this. I promise," he whispered.

Lev nodded, wiping away a tear. "I believe you."

With a final hug, Lev picked up her suitcase and gave Dr. Luke one last, lingering look before heading towards the security line. Dr. Luke watched as she slowly moved through the process, waving every now and then until she disappeared from sight.

As he walked back to his car, Dr. Luke felt an ache in his chest that he couldn't quite explain. He drove to the hospital in a daze, the city passing by in a blur. Once he arrived at work, he tried to push down the sadness, focusing on his patients and the tasks at hand.

But as the day went on, the weight of Lev's absence grew heavier. In a quiet moment between rounds, Dr. Luke found himself standing by a window, staring out at the city. His eyes welled up with tears, and he let them fall, acknowledging the deep sense of loss and longing he felt.

He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he also knew that his love for Lev would carry him through. Taking a deep breath, he wiped his eyes and straightened his shoulders, ready to face the challenges ahead. He had promised Lev they would survive the distance, and he intended to keep that promise, no matter what.

After a long, grueling 13-hour flight, Lev finally landed in Canada. Exhaustion mixed with a sense of relief as she navigated through the bustling airport, collecting her luggage and heading towards the exit. Outside, her personal driver awaited her arrival, holding a sign with her name on it.

"Welcome back, Ms. Lev," he greeted her with a warm smile.

"Thank you," Lev replied, her voice weary but grateful.

The drive to her house was a blur of familiar and unfamiliar sights. As they pulled into the driveway of her home, Lev felt a pang of homesickness for Korea and for Dr. Luke. She thanked her driver and quickly made her way inside, setting her bags down and collapsing onto the couch.

Almost immediately, she pulled out her phone and sent a message to Dr. Luke: "Just arrived safe. Missing you badly."

Dr. Luke, despite the late hour in Korea, had been anxiously awaiting her message. His phone buzzed, and he saw Lev's text, relief washing over him. Without hesitation, he hit the FaceTime button, eager to see her face and hear her voice.
