Caught Red Handed

Lady Lesso prided herself on her traditional take on the battle between good and evil. She wasn't the type of person to adjust her values for something so trivial as love, no matter what Clarissa said. And she worked hard to pass these opinions- or facts, as she liked to think of them- onto her students.

This was precisely why Leonora was shocked to find two of her best students kissing in her empty classroom. How a person could even muster up the courage to attempt something so monumentally idiotic was beyond her, and the surprise itself left her standing there staring for a moment, mouth agape.

The girls immediately split apart. Hester moved a few feet away, arms folded stiffly. A flash of disappointment flickered across Anadil's face before she leaned against the wall, expression returning to it's usual terrifyingly passive state.

It wasn't as though Leonora hadn't noticed the close bond between Hester and Anadil, she had. At least, she'd noticed it from Anadil's end. Anadil spent most of the time in class not-so-subtly gazing at Hester, who seemed to focused on the lessons to notice. Lesso figured that this, at least, made some sort of sense. It wasn't entirely uncommon for henchmen to be a bit obsessed with their leaders.

So while Lesso may be able to accept this sort of behavior from Anadil, she was shocked to see it from Hester, who had always seemed so dedicated to being a villain. Leonora would've thought that Hester could tell how unheard of this sort of behavior was from a witch.

At least Hester had the sense to look ashamed. She looked pointedly away from Lesso, her cheeks tinged a bright, evergirl shade of pink. How distasteful. Anadil, on the other hand, looked bored, and a little annoyed with Lesso for interupting. Her half-lidded red eyes focused on some distant point as she absentmindedly stroked one of her rats.

Lesso finally closed her breath, and inhaled sharply through her nostrils, before opening it once again to speak. "Would either of you care to explain exactly what is going on here?"

Both girls stayed silent. One of Anadil's rats crawled out of Hester's hair, squeaking. If possible, Hester's face got redder.

"Look, I can explain." Hester started, and Lesso raised an eyebrow. Hester gulped.

"You mean you have a good explaination for kissing your henchman in the middle of my classroom like a wannabe rebel everboy?" Leonora asked. She was well aware that there was no good explanation for this.

Hester opened and closed her mouth a few times while Anadil watched her. Despite her bored expression, Lesso didn't miss that flicker in the albino girl's eyes. Love is such a nuissance. She thought.

When Hester seemed to close her mouth permanently and just look awkwardly into the distance, Leonora rubbed the bridge of her nose and sighed.

"Just get out. And if I catch you doing anything like this again there will be hell to pay, understood?" She asked. Hester blinked.

"You're not even sending us to the doom room?" Hester questioned, genuinely perplexed.

"Would you like to be sent to the doom room?" Lesso couldn't help but smirk when Hester grabbed Anadil by the wrist and scampered out of the room like a couple of spooked rats.

She couldn't help but look forward to the laugh Clarissa would surely get out of the story when she told it at dinner that night.
