She could recognize that car as she drove up to her child's school. Could recognize the sudden frame that got out of it the second she watched her child run up to the one man who had her entire stomach dropping. Making the woman sit there in line and simply watch. Watch in every way that had her heart racing, despite hearing that sudden honk from behind her for not moving forward. Causing the one man who placed their child in the backseat to simply peer behind him and directly at her.
And she watched that smile paint his face. Watched that smile paint her husband's face. Because it was her husband who showed up without a word to get their child after school. And it was her husband whos's behavior had the woman on absolute edge. Simply driving home, only to instantly be met with the two. Making the woman swallow down what had her wanting to instantly cry the second her son voiced out that excited mommy. Rushing over to the one girl who couldn't help but peer up at him the whole time her child kept himself buried into her body in that hug.
"Let's get inside, Jitae-ah. Daddy made dinner reservations." She knew he didn't care. Care to do what had her falling numb at the sound of his words as she voiced his name in that manner so desperate. Knowing he was wanting. Wanting for the woman to crumble in front of him.
"Mommy will be there in a second to help you get ready, baby." She walked inside of that home. Able to feel that single presence of her husband behind her as their child went to his room. Making the girl instantly look back at the man the second they entered their own bedroom. Swearing that she had never. Never seen the man look so smug.
"What is this? Huh—"
"All I did was make dinner reservations, baby—"
"You know exactly what I'm referring to, Jiseok—."
"Do I—"
"W-When have you ever picked up, Jitae after school on days you work—"
"I'm his father, Miju—"
"I don't care that you're his father. Y-You never would do any of these things—"
"Things change, baby. . ." He stepped up to the girl. The same girl who was beginning to feel. Feel that absolute terror from the man.
"If you can go and fuck some man you've not been with in over 10 years, then I can go and pick up my son after school—"
"What do you want out of this, Jiseok? Huh?! I-I am not going to do this with you—"
"Do what—"
"Jiseok." And she couldn't. Couldn't play some sort of game with him. Couldn't do what already had her on pure edge. Overthinking the entire night that she had told the man she cheated on him. Afraid that he'd keep. Keep their son from her.
"I've told you that I can't give you this. Th-That I can't be present in the ways you want—"
"So you go and break up this fucking family, Miju? Is that what you go and do?" He laughed at the girl. The same girl who knew. Knew she should've never started what she couldn't finish deep down inside.
"Do you not realize how much fucking time I've put into this family, Miju—"
"Jiseok—"
"I've worked my fucking ass off to be able to provide the way I do. To make sure our child is taken fucking care of, and where you don't have to work if you don't want to." His voice was so deep. Holding that look toward the woman who knew. Knew how much effort he had put in. Knew how much care he held when it came to making sure they were each looked after.
