The first light of morning crept through the delicate curtains of Rowan's opulent chamber, casting a soft glow over the room. She had slept fitfully, her dreams haunted by the shadows of the previous day's events. As she lay in the lavish bed, she felt a mixture of trepidation and resignation about what the new day might bring.

A gentle knock on the door interrupted her thoughts. The maid from the previous day entered, carrying a tray laden with breakfast. The aroma of freshly baked bread, fruit, and a steaming pot of tea filled the room, a small comfort amid the grandeur.

"Good morning, Princess," the maid said with a warm smile. She placed the tray on a nearby table and then opened a wardrobe filled with a selection of elegant garments. "I've brought you breakfast and some clothing suitable for your new position."

Rowan, still feeling somewhat disoriented, sat up and glanced at the array of garments. The clothing was exquisitely tailored, fit for a princess, with fine fabrics and intricate details. She appreciated the effort but felt a pang of sadness at the reminder of her new circumstances.

"Thank you," Rowan said, her voice soft but sincere. "May I ask your name?"

The maid looked up, her eyes kind and understanding. "Of course, Princess. My name is Elara. I am here to assist you in any way I can."

Rowan offered a grateful smile. "Thank you, Elara. Your kindness means a lot to me right now."

Elara nodded and began to arrange the breakfast items on the table. "If you need anything else or have any questions about your new surroundings, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be here to help."

As Rowan ate the breakfast, she took a moment to reflect on her situation. Despite the luxurious surroundings, she felt a deep sense of displacement. The castle, while beautiful, was a stark contrast to the life she had known. She wondered how she would navigate this new reality and what challenges lay ahead.

After breakfast, Rowan decided to explore the castle. She needed to understand her new environment, if only to distract herself from the heavy weight of her situation. She wandered through the grand hallways, her footsteps echoing softly on the marble floors. The castle was a maze of opulent rooms and ornate corridors, each more breathtaking than the last.

As she turned a corner, she stumbled upon a door marked with a simple brass plaque: **Library**. Intrigued, Rowan pushed open the door and stepped inside. The library was vast, filled with towering shelves lined with books on every subject imaginable. The scent of old paper and leather bindings filled the air, a comforting reminder of her love for reading.

Her eyes scanned the shelves until she found a section labeled **History**. Curiosity piqued, she began to browse through the volumes, hoping to find information about her family. As she pulled out a large, dusty book and opened it, she was excited to see detailed accounts of her ancestors and the rich history of her lineage.

Her excitement was short-lived, however, as her thoughts turned to Alex and her friends. She missed them dearly and felt a pang of regret that she had been taken away from her familiar life. She needed to reach out to them, to let them know what had happened and to stay connected.

Rowan pulled out her phone and quickly typed a message to Alex. Her fingers trembled slightly as she typed.

*Hey Alex, it's Rowan. I'm in the castle now. They took me here after the council men came. It's been overwhelming, and I feel so alone. I found the library and some history on my family, but I miss everyone so much. Just wanted to let you know what's going on. I hope we can find a way to get through this together.*

She hit send and stared at the screen, waiting for a response. It wasn't long before her phone buzzed with a reply.

*Rowan, I'm so sorry to hear what's happening. I'm here for you, no matter what. The group and I are trying to figure out a way to help. Stay strong, okay? You're not alone in this. If there's anything specific you need or any way we can support you, let us know. We'll get through this together.*
