A Solar x Moon(Nexus) Story

What now?

The next morning, Solar woke up first and almost immediately became flustered after realizing the two of them fell asleep together. He stared up at Moon for a moment before closing his eyes again and trying to go back to sleep. When that didn't work he decided to try to maneuver himself out of Moon's arms to get up. He managed to sit up and slip out but not without waking Moon up. Moon also sat up and stared back at Solar for a second before standing up, stretching his arms above his head. Solar also stood up after Moon finished and they went down to the kitchen where sun was making breakfast. Lunar was sitting at the table tapping it with his hands in a rhythmatic order and humming to himself. Moon and Solar sat down across from Lunar facing away from the kitchen as Lunar gave the two a smug look. "Sooo are you together now or what?" Lunar said. Solar sighed and replied with "I think so..? I gotta admit I'm not exactly experienced in this sorta thing, and I know the hell Moon isn't either.". "Hey at least you'll learn along the way." Lunar said just as Sun brought the first plates of food to Lunar and Solar before going back and giving one to Moon and one for himself. "Learn about what now?" Sun asked. Moon and Solar went silent as they realized Sun doesn't know sh*t about this before Lunar shouted "They're gonna learn how to date!". Sun looked confused as ever before turning to the two as it clicked in his head. He then tried saying "You two.. are?-" "very fond of one another to a.. romantic extent." Moon cut sun off. "Oh, so dating." Sun replied. Moon tried to say something but stayed silent as he gave up since sun was right but he didn't know if it should be called dating yet since the two are very new to such a thing. They all ate while catching up on stuff like random things that happened during their work hours or progress they've made on some video games. Moon was the first to finish eating as he went to wash his plate, soon followed by Solar as he just finished too. As Moon washed his plate Solar waited patiently just beside him as they felt that warm feeling again. Solar started washing his plate after Moon finished as he stayed by Solar to wait for him to finish since they had planned to work on something in Moon's lab today a couple days prior. Soon enough Solar finished and Moon put down the portal to the lab and both headed through. Sun and Lunar watched them go through as Lunar said jokingly "How long you wanna bet it'll take them to screw each other?" As he laughed and ran away as Sun threw a tiny ball of magic at Lunar "AAAHHAAHOWWW YOU HIT MY EYE-".

After Moon and Solar entered the lab they went to the computers to check on data before they would get started on their work. They stood next to each other as they examined their data, feeling the other's warm presence. As Moon let his hand down for a moment Solar noticed and subtly grazed his hand against Moon's. Moon took quick notice and held Solar's hand which surprised Solar, causing him to heat up a bit. Moon gripped Solar's hand with a slight yet soft squeeze as Solar did the same. After a few minutes they finished analyzing their data and Moon tried to walk away forgetting he was holding Solar's hand and accidentally pulled Solar a bit by surprise.
"Sorry, not used to this romantic..cutesy.. stuff.." Moon apologized. They let go of each other's hand and walked over to the underground chambers. They found the main magic pool room to run tests on random things they deemed suspicious, strange, or interesting.
About 4 hours went by as they grew tired of testing, Solar walked over to where Moon was and asked "Hey, do you wanna go out to get some food and take a break?". "Sure, I think we're about done with tests for the day." Moon replied. They put down and went through a portal to a park and ordered some food from a concession stand before finding a park bench and sitting down across from each other. They sat there and ate while having a conversation, having a great time bonding. Solar was laughing at a dark joke Moon made as Moon snickered along, as Solar laughed for a moment Moon just stared at him with a smile. Solar noticed after he calmed down and he heated up a bit from being flattered. "You ever get that feeling when you or I do something and our body heat rises?" Solar asked. "Yeah I kept getting that a lot around you." Moon responded. "Oh, well I think it's our equivalent of blushing or something? Since it usually occurs when we interact with each other in a romantic sense.. like holding hands or being close." Solar said. Moon nodded as Solar looked down at Moon's hand and inches his own hand closer to Moon's. Moon immediately noticed, took Solar's hand and squeezed it gently. Solar smiled warmly as Moon got up and sat next to Solar. Moon leaned his head onto Solar's shoulder, Solar did the same onto Moon's head as they gazed at the upcoming sunset.
