: Struggling :

Vixensky couldn't sleep the rest of the night.
“Are you ok?”
Vixensky looked up numbly. “I’m fine. . .”
Spiderleg was unconvinced. “You haven't been doing well for a few days now.” his gaze was concerned and empathetic.
“I said I'm fine.” Vixensky hissed.
Spiderleg looked completely shocked.
Vixensky slapped their tail over their mouth. What's happening?! Someone save me. . . They had never been so hateful. Well that's not true. The first time I was the most hateful and spiteful piece of crow-food to ever exist. Vixensky thought, full of self loathing.
Spiderleg turned away from them.
Vixensky buried their face in their front paws. I'm a terrible cat. Why couldn't I just go to the Dark Forest? Why must I be tormented like this?

Vixensky had to drag themself out of their nest.
“Are you alright?” Brambleclaw asked.
Vixensky sighed, they were not going to snap at Brambleclaw. They wouldn't allow themself to do it. “Ask your mate.” Vixensky answered.
Brambleclaw looked confused by their response. “What do you mean by that?”
“After you two go talk to your kits, ask your mate what happened last night.” Vixensky elaborated.
Brambleclaw raised a brow. “Okay then.”
Don't look at it. Don't do it. You're going to regret it. Vixensky closed their eyes. A petal had fluttered to the ground, they turned away from it.
After they were completely certain they wouldn't see the petal, Vixensky opened their eyes and looked at Brambleclaw. “I need to do something.”
Brambleclaw looked confused for a moment before he suddenly realized what Vixensky meant. “I'll cover for you.”
Vixensky nodded and slunk off.

Vixensky rushed through the forest, their paws barely skimmed the ground as they made their way to the abandoned two-legden.
As they arrived at the abandoned den, Vixensky almost smacked into Brambleheart.
“Gah! Vixen? I didn't think there would be any patrols out yet.” Brambleheart backed back into the den.
Vixensky dipped their head apologetically. “Sorry. I just couldn't patrol today. Things have been. . . Strange for me lately.” they were trying not to sound insane.
Brambleheart nodded.
“Vixen? What are you doing here?”
Vixen turned to the thick furred brown tabby. “I really don't have a good answer for you.” Vixensky shook their head.
Mudclaw’s expression changed to one of sympathy. “You could stay here for a few hours if that'll help.” he offered.
Vixensky nodded. “Thanks.”
Brambleheart rolled her eyes. “Dad, why are you so nice to Vixen? Seriously. You act like they're your kit.”
Yeah except I'm technically older than the clans. Vixensky silently remarked.
“It’s called being cordial Brambleheart, did your father never teach you?” Mudclaw retorted.
Brambleheart looked confused. “I was raised by both of you. What's that supposed to mean?”
Mudclaw shrugged and limped away.
Vixensky’s mood lightened a little. Then it crashed right back down. This is how you're supposed to treat your kin. You fox-heart.
Vixensky’s self loathing was all too familiar. It was the amount they had scolded others for. But of course they were a hypocrite.

An:
Poor Vixensky.
