Chapter 21

ZOE'S POV~

I paced back and forth in my room, thinking of how to tell Dani that I love her. It's difficult.

"Hey Zoe, it's time for dinner." Dani called for the door. I jumped and pulled my bow out, an arrow nocked and I let it fly. She caught it and smirked.

"Daughter of Apollo, remember?" She said with that smirk of hers. It made me melt inside but she didn't even notice.

"Hey Dani, can you come in her please?" I asked, get more nervous by the second. She nodded and ran into the room, jumping on the bed like she always does.

"What is it Zoe?" She asked, totally oblivious. I took a deep breath as I thought about what I was about to do.

"I-I'm in love with you!" I blurted out. Dani stopped playing with my pillow.

"What?" She asked, in a daze.

"I've been in love with you for a long time and when I died, I did it because my father was about to kill you." I said, gaining more confidence. She grinned but I had no idea why.

"I know Nico has been cheating on me since a few weeks before I disappeared. My Dad managed to contact me and then I managed to tell him that I wanted to break up with Nico after he told me that. I may not be fully ready now, but I have felt what you're feeling now for the past few weeks. Did you noticed that I always do everything with you? That I always opt to do everything you're doing?" Dani said, tears coming to her eyes when she said the part about Nico cheating on her. "We broke up a few days after my Dad told me and I managed to get a message to him through some offerings."

I leaned forwards and pulled her into my arms. We just hugged while she cried and I could tell someone closed the door as they knew what was going on. She finished crying and kissed me. It was what I had wanted for a long time, even as a Hunter of Artemis. We broke apart and grinned like crazy. "So, dinner?"

DANIELLE'S POV~

It's true, Nico did cheat on me and Dad showed me the proof. The gods all nearly killed him but I convinced them not to. I would deal with him when I get out of the hell hole. I'm so glad that I finally had the guts to do what I wanted. I love Zoe Nightshade.

"So, dinner?" Zoe asked. I laughed and nodded. She got up and offered her hand. I took and held it as we went to dinner. Everybody was grinning as we sat at the table. Bob and Damasen sat down and they knew what was going on too.

"Finally." Anna muttered. I blushed bright red with Zoe and everyone laughed.

"So, what's the plan?" Zoe asked. She wasn't there when we planned the attack.

"We only have a few hours till we attack. At first light, we'll attack when most of the monsters are sleeping and it'll be easier to overpower them. Dani will probably meet her rogue sibling and fight them there. Nobody can help her, to get her out, she needs to do it herself." Percy said. Zoe lightly growled and mumbled under her breath. I took her hand in mine as I ate with my left hand instead of my right. It's actually more difficult than you would think!

"So we can't help in any way?" Zoe asked. I nodded and she gripped my hand tightly in hers.

"I'll kick their ass to Tartarus!" I threatened. They all laughed and nodded.

"We need to make sure to have our weapons sharpened and our armor ready." Anna said. I agreed and ate fast. We all did the same so then we could get a decent nights sleep. I was the first to finish I kissed Zoe on the head.

"I'll see you in the morning." I told her. She nodded and kissed my cheek. "Night everyone."

"Night Dani!" Anna called out.

"See you tomorrow Elle!" Bob cheered. I walked over to him and gave him a kiss on the forehead, he's just like a little kid.

"Sharpen your weapons." Bianca said cheerily. I laughed and gave her a hug. I gave Anna a hug since she was right next to her too.

"Don't I always?" I teased. She scowled and swatted my hand away as I went to ruffle her hair.

"Remind me to kill my brother when we get back to Camp, alright?" Bianca asked. I gave her a weird look until Percy said something.

"Because he cheated on you." Zoe pinned him against a wall.

"You say something else about that cheating Death Breath and you'll die, Son of Poseidon or not." She said deadly and quietly. "Dani and I are happy now and he isn't going to ruin it just because he was mentioned." I took her hand and pulled her away from Percy plus her knife.

"Zoe, come with me. Bianca, Anna, you guys too." I requested. They got up and followed, after Anna kissed Percy good night.

We walked to my room and we all sat down on my bed. "Zoe, he didn't mean too. He was just trying to clarify things." Anna said.

"You know how Perce is, he's a total Seaweed Brain." I said with a laugh. They joined in and then there was a knock at the door. Bianca opened the door to find Percy standing there, looking sad.

"I'm sorry Dani, for talking about Him." Percy said, looking down. I walked over to him and pulled his chin up to look in my eyes. Then I pulled him into a really tight hug.

"Of course! You didn't try to do anything bad." Zoe said with a  look of sorrow in her eyes. "I'm sorry for overreacting."

"Alright, everyone to bed!" I said with a motherly appeal. They all gave me puppy dog eyes.

"Can we have a pre-battle sleepover?"

I groaned but agreed. "Fine!"
