Mizuki stayed into her car, completely done with everything. She had spent the last year trying to survive in university, and the least she could say was it wasn't easy. She had managed to keep up with her studies, but completely lost track of any form of social life.
She didn't have any friends, and her mother kinda forced her to rest for a week and spend a week at rhe beach with her during the summer holiday. Even though she was a grown woman, Mizuki still lived with her family, since she couldn't afford her own home yet. She was a bit tired, and even more annoyed with another beautiful idea her mom had.
Without telling her, she had invited her aunt and cousin with them. They were currently in the same car, and not crossing their gazes was hard.
Her cousin, Aika, who was about her age, wasn't really pretty or smart, but she was quite popular. She knew what to say in any situation, and always managed to make Mizuki feel terrible. The aunt, Eri, wasn't better. She kept defending her daughter each time she had done something wrong, and the mother never noticed.
The poor woman, left with those unusual family members, stared at her window. Everything seemed so beautiful outside, and her holiday was going to be ruined. A few strands of her brown hair flew in front of her eyes, blocking her sight for a second.
Aika leaned towards her, and stared for a while before getting her cousin to notice. "Are you enthusiastic about those days at the beach ? she whispered. Wait... Nobody's gonna be friends with you...".
The other huffed. What a jerk ! she thought. But she decided not to listen to her. "How would you know that ?" she questionned back in a teasing tone. "I'm sure I'm gonna find great people at the camping to hang out with !"
Aika giggled, making the other even more annoyed. "I'm gonna steal them all, for myself !" she replied. "They're all gonna stay with me and nobody's gonna pay attention to you !". "Keep talking, I don't care..." Mizuki muttered before turning to the window again.
The travel took a few more hours, but they finally arrived, a bit exhausted. The brown-haired woman helped her mother unpack their suitcases and put them somewhere inside the narrow bungalow they were sleeping in, before stretching a bit. They took so much with them, as if they were moving there or something. Finally, Hana, her mom, walked towards her. "Could you please go and ask for any activities interesting here ?" she proposed. "I wouldn't want to miss any opportunity to cheer my daughter !". The other raised her shoulders. She didn't really care, but would gladly do it for her mom to be happy. She seemed a bit anxious about those unusual days at the beach, and knew her daughter hadn't really spoken to anyone for a year.
"Sure, I'll come back in a few minutes then !" she exclaimed. "I'll help you with the suitcases !". The mother chuckled a bit. She was so proud of having such a kind person by her side. "Don't worry, just enjoy your first day here !" she decided. The other smiled, not really because she felt happy, but because she knew it would please her mother.
