Chapter 41

Captain Nathaniel Reed Called a Private Meeting

Captain Nathaniel Reed gathered his trusted men and said, "I am now thinking differently. We were enemies of Chief Morana, but we never intended to harm her as she was suffering. My mind went back to the time when we were fighting Morana, and despite many battles, she remained undefeated. Who was it that changed everything? The dwarfs. Now, there's the matter of the red dragon. Despite our best efforts, it did not die. I suspect that the dwarfs are involved. When we first encountered them, they were selfish and cunning, taking advantage of their men.

As Captain Reed paused, Liora asked, 'How will we learn more about them?'

Captain Nathaniel Reed replied, 'I found an old book in the ship's library. It discusses a dwarf experiment conducted by seamen. The seamen described the dwarfs as having many castes, one of which is particularly cruel and selfish. They are highly educated. The book contains much information; you should read it yourself. After reading this book, I devised a plan. Before proceeding further with them, we should infiltrate their area to gather hidden information about the caves and the Golden Temple. Our men will go undercover, meet their people, and obtain information about the red dragon.'"

Chapter 42

Dwarf Civilization

Our spies infiltrated the dwarf kingdom and gathered very useful information. They reported that the dwarfs live a modern life with everything they need in their cities. The spies mentioned that dwarfs primarily use bears for transportation instead of horses, as the height of the bear is more suitable for them. The dwarfs had never heard of the red dragon except in books; they believe it is merely a fiction.

The report indicated that the caves are empty, with the dwarfs using them for special purposes. Inside the caves, they have laboratories and experiment centers. The spies noted that they saw many machines in these caves capable of emitting fire, similar to a dragon's breath.

The most important information concerned the Golden Temple. The spies reported that the Golden Temple is situated away from the public eye and features a golden statue of a dragon. The king's men visit the temple to worship the dragon. The report also revealed that previously there was a golden statue of Chief Morana, and before her, a statue of the senior scholar Elron. Elron was the first deity of the Golden Temple. Captain Nathaniel Reed reviewed all the information and asked the group for their thoughts on the next steps.

Chapter 43

Dwarf King

We arrived at the Dwarf King's palace with our plan in place. Senior Scholar Elron and our dwarf allies looked at us with surprise. Elron's eyes followed us, but he said nothing. The king, [insert name], inquired about our arrival. Captain Nathaniel Reed replied, "Your men have been a great help to us, but we feel that Devi is not pleased because we have not fulfilled our promises. Before we proceed further, we wish to visit the Golden Temple and see the Devi statue there."

Elron listened and said, "If you believe that changing the statue of the god will resolve the matter, we are prepared to do so. However, there is now a barrier between us. You have shown mistrust, and if you act unilaterally, neither I nor my men will cooperate with you."

Captain Nathaniel Reed, remaining calm, responded, "We simply want the Devi statue placed in the Golden Temple. We will handle the tribal matters ourselves."

The king and the scholars listened to Captain Nathaniel Reed's decision and left in anger. Afterward, we proceeded to the Golden Temple, which was constructed as we had hoped. We then assembled our forces, attacked the tribes, and seized the dragon's treasure.
