Sweet swim

The day after we wake up late, we planned to make a picnic near the beach.
"So where are we going?" I ask Gunil, who always knows the plans.
"There's a swimming pool nearby, we can have a picnic on the grass."

I enjoy our walk as always. I can't help but smile at the thought of having the best friend group ever. When we arrive I look around, seeing the enormous pool with a park all around it.
"Whaa! This pool is immense!" I say, amazed by the view.
"I didn't know that there was a waterslide too." Gaon adds.
"We definitely have to try it later!"

We lay the sheets on the grass and take out the snacks we bought for the picnic.
We share the food and chat about random things, but I look at the people swimming and I start having some doubts.
"Seungmin?" I call him by pulling his shirt's sleeve.
"Yes? Everything's good?"
I get a bit embarrassed and whisper in his ear. "Are you going to take off your upper clothes later?"
He looks at me with an awkward smile. "Ehm...what?"
I take a look at my friends and notice that everyone around me is wearing a sort of shirt made with the same material as swimsuits.
"Wait guys, are you going in water all dressed? I wonder, waiting for the others' responses.
They look at each other and chuckle. "Here it's common, it's to prevent from tanning and sun damage." Gunil explains to me.
"Oh... I forgot about that."
Seungmin looks at me again. "But then... what kind of swimsuit are you wearing?"
I blush a bit. It's a normal bikini, it would be nothing special in my country, but every girl around here is wearing that kind of swim shirt.
"Uhm, I thought it was a normal swimsuit but compared to everyone else it's not very covered..."
Seungmin pauses for a moment, trying to think about something. "Are you uncomfortable? I can give you my shirt if you want."
"Are you sure that you don't need it?"
"I'll just apply a lot of sunscreen." He smiles, brushing my hair.

After we finish eating, the members head to the pool. I stay on the grass with Seungmin.
"So you brought only that type of swimsuit?" He asks.
"Yes... It's already a miracle that I brought beachwear in my first luggage to Korea."
"Don't worry, if you want we can buy some in the local shops." He suggests.
"That's right, maybe I'll buy some tomorrow."
"So... you want to go swim now?"
I nod. "Before that... can you please give me your shirt?"
"Oh right!" He hesitates, then opens the zipper of his swim shirt.
I try to not look to much at his body and thank him.
"Can I see your swimsuit?" He shyly asks.
I take off my t-shirt to show him my top. "As I said it's nothing special..."
It's a sweetheart neckline with strawberries, a very basic choice but still pretty.
He looks at it and smiles. "Are you sure that you want to cover up? It's so cute..."
I smile shyly. "What if everyone looks weirdly at me?"
"I have an idea." He starts, "I won't wear my shirt too, so you're not the only one, okay?"
I think for a second and approve. "Okay! Let's do it."
We get up and hold hands. "Thank you Sumi."
"And for what? It's a win for both of us, no?" He jokes.
"The mischievous starfish is back at it again huh?" I say, punching him lightly.

As I walk to the pool I see some people staring at me, I feel a bit uncomfortable.
I glimpse at Seungmin and he puts his arm around my shoulder.
"Be confident, okay? You're beautiful." He whispers, leaving a little kiss on my cheek.

"Why did it take so long? I'm waiting for you to do the waterslide together!" Gaon laments, making me a sign to hurry.
"Yes, yes. Just a moment!" I slowly enter the pool, feeling the cool water on me.
"Ahh! It's so cold!" I freeze for a moment.
And right after I was completely wet.
"JOOYEON YOU-"
I look at him laughing out loud after he took a big dip in the pool, splashing me completely.

I run to him and push his head underwater.
"Gahhh! I drank water!" He whines.
"Hah! Serves you right!"
He puts his arms around me and push us underwater. "Oh come on! Now I drank too!"
We hit the water to splash eachother, laughing like little kids.
