The Pine Tree

Narrator

When the first ray of the the new dawn shined   in Athens Alexander was already preparing. He wore his new sandals, a common white chiton, fixed "the bed hair" and went outside breathing the invigorating air that made the trees rustle. With a lot excitement he walked down the hill. Lost in his thoughts (again) he felt the sun disappearing. He had arrived much more faster than he anticipated.

Standing in front of him with all it's might was "The Pine Tree". Old, immense and intimidating like the gods. It's shadow rivaled that of the Parthenon. The countless leafs, golden by the reflection of the sun, were hugging the area like a mother hugging her newborn child.
Hundreds of years  has this tree been standing here and thousands of visitors have been bewitched by it's pure beauty and "magic". Alexander was one of them .

He was caught staring in awe by his friends that arrived  excited and impatient to learn about the boy's issue.

"As many times as I have seen this tree I still can't comprehend how huge and majestic it is." Alexander remarked
" Surely a making of the gods." He continued

" How can you think like that this early in the morning." Nick exclaimed. "My brain isn't awake yet. I almost ate  an egg with the shel still on." He joked

"It's not that early. I already finished half my chores and read a book"(Something very rare these days). Anna responded.

"So, go on I need to know what you wanted to tell us".

Alexander told them about the strange man and the intense conversation with my dad. He also described the appearance of the man.

"Wow, what a man like that would want from your father. He seems to be a soldier."

"Maybe an oligarch" Anna added

"And that's exactly why I need you two. We have to find more information about him."

"Maybe your parents know him." She said to Nick

" Maybe he is a sneaky evil aristocrat who is trying to manipulate the democrats".Nick replied angry
"We are not like that, WE are civilized unlike your people"
"You don't know anything about my people "
"About all the struggles we've been through, while you fancy aristocrats live in your big houses and spent your wealth for stupid little thinks".
" That's because we earned it with all the hard work".
"The work some relative did hundreds of years ago. You just inherited the money and the status and all the privileges." Nick screamed furious.

"Stop it guys!" Alexander shouted

[Silence] ( with  Dumbledore's voice)

"Nick is right "

"Whattt" Anna protested.

"I am not speaking about the argument".

"My father said that there are some election, and obviously there are very important. What I am saying is that the stranger could be threatening my dad."

"Ohh, yeah you are right, I heard about them from my parents.
I think it's the first time that there will be representatives from all  three political wings." Anna continued.

"This changes everything. We need to find more about that stranger and the whole situation " Nick announced.

"If we find his house we can spy on him and figure out what he is up to. So I need you to look for anything suspicious. He will probably be with other soldiers or generals or even with politicians."

"Alexander I found it. Haha, I think he is a mercenary probably working for some politician. And they are threatening your father so they can win the elections."Anna exclaimed excited.

"Ohhhh nice. Alexander said sarcastically.

"That his father you are talking about Anna.
Well... I don't think he is in that much trouble. I am sure that it is such a small issue that even  he can fix it." Nick comforted him.

"Yeah you have me you shouldn't worry, I can solve it. Anna added

"I think you meant WE ,as the happy team WE are, can solve this". Nick joked

"Nahh". She simply replied making all of us  laught and easing the tension.

But Alexander couldn't get the thought out of his mind. Are they threatening you dad?
I will fix this.
I can.
WE can.

Many conversations like these, many bondings and many friendships like theirs were build under "The Pine Tree".
