The bright morning sun eventually woke me. It was probably around 6am, usually I would sleep till at least 6. I didn't sleep well anyways. I slowly sat up, rubbing the crust of my eyes and slowly gazing around my room, this would be the last time I'd see it in awhile.

I reached over to check my phone, there were new messages from Becka. I winced slightly as I stared at my phone, hesitant to open the unopened text, guilty to do something like that to my friends.... But ultimately I had to, at least.

Beckaaa :3

-WHAT

ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE?

-Damn man, you weren't even gonna consider asking me?

-You're stupid

-I told Kate

-Had to convince her a bit but she's in

-Meet up at that old bus spot by your house?

I read through the messages, my anxiety fading as I read the responses.

                                                                                                                                                  -Yeah, sounds good.

I replied, before quicking glancing at the time on my phone, it was 6:10 by now. I had to head off soon, my parents would be notified before too long that I wasn't attending school and didn't call in for a reason, and I certainly did not want that if I didn't want to get caught. I'd have to pack fast, but I could do that.

I got out of bed, groggily rubbing the crust from my eyes and heading over towards my dresser, deciding I'd change my current attire and get on on better cold weather clothes, as it was fall and we'd probably head to a forest, or something, some place cold and desolate. After I was done with that, I needed something to carry supplies in.. my school backpack. I went over to where it was, emptying it before gathering a few items I think would be useful.

• Pairs of clothing

•my phone and the charger, of course.

•Airpods

•Water bottle, freshly filled up

•Some food, we could probably hit a store at some point...

•Flashlight, obviously.

•Some pocket change, I don't know, like 30 bucks?

Ah hell, that was all I could pack. Knowing Rebecca however, she'd probably be 30x more prepared than me anyways, I'm sure we'd be fine, we'd find our way. I made sure to clean up my room, making my bed and tidying up the room itself, getting rid of most of the clutter around, I didn't know how long until I'd see the place, anyways.

I zipped up the backpack, putting my phone and airpods in my pocket and stepping out towards the room, looking back into the room briefly as I exited it, a twinge of guilt stinging over me at the fact I was randomly abandoning everything for even the slight chance that my future would end up different than what it was set to be. One could only hope, I suppose. I closed the door, making sure to quickly lock all the house doors so no one would get in.

I left the garage, the cold autumn air stinging my face as I stepped foot outside, the sound of wind whistling in my ears. Unpleasant and cold. I huffed slightly as I began to go down the street, towards the bus stop, fumbling with my phone and airpods. May as well listen to something decent on the way, it was a 20 minute walk...

I mostly looked down at the sidewalk as I treaded, occasionally glancing up at the fall scenery littered around the road and people's front yards. It was worryingly cold today, the trees around me shaking and rustling with an occasional gust of wind. The sky was dark-looking as well.
