Vivan pov

I woke up to the sound of my mother's voice, stern and worried, "Vivan, get up! You're going to be late for your internship!" I groggily opened my eyes, rubbing the sleep from them. My room was filled with the warm sunlight peeking through the curtains, signaling a new day had begun.

I stretched my arms, feeling the excitement and nervousness build up inside me. Today was the first day of my internship at St. Michael's Hospital, a prestigious institution in the city. I had worked hard for this moment, completing my medical studies with flying colors.

My mother, Nalini, entered my room, a look of exasperation on her face. "Vivan, you're going to be late! Get ready quickly!" She helped me sit up and handed me a glass of water.

My father, Raj, walked in, a calm smile on his face. "Let him be, Nalini. He's nervous enough already." He patted me on the back. "You'll do great, son. Just be yourself and learn as much as you can."

My little brother, Roony, burst into the room, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Vivan bhaiya is going to be a doctor! But he can't even wake up on time!" He teased, making me chuckle.

I playfully tossed a pillow at him, and he dodged it, laughing. My family's banter was just what I needed to shake off the sleep and nerves.

As I got ready, my mother helped me pick out a crisp white shirt and dark blue pants, making sure I looked professional. My father handed me a small bag with some snacks and a water bottle. "Keep this with you, beta. You never know when you'll need it."

Roony, not wanting to be left out, handed me a small drawing he had made. "For good luck, bhaiya!" It was a crude but sweet picture of a doctor with a stethoscope and a big smile.

I hugged my family, feeling grateful for their love and support. "I'll make you all proud," I promised, trying to hold back my emotions.

With one last look at my family, I headed out the door, ready to start this new chapter of my life.

I walked into the hospital, my heart racing with excitement and nerves. My best friend, Amol, was already there, sipping on a cup of coffee. We exchanged a warm smile, and I plopped down beside him.

"Dude, I'm so glad we're in this together," Amol said, shaking his head. "Forever single, remember? First, it was 'study hard for med school,' then 'get a doctorate degree,' and now 'survive internship'... life is hard, bro!"

I chuckled. "Tell me about it. I'm starting to think we'll be lucky if we get married before we're 40!"

Just then, our senior doctor, Dr. Smith, walked by, giving us a stern look. "Less chit-chat, more focus! You're here to learn, not socialize!"

Amol and I exchanged a sheepish glance, but as soon as Dr. Smith turned his back, we burst out laughing.

After our rounds, we headed to the pediatrics ward to check on the patients. That's when I saw him – a tiny, adorable kid, around three years old, with big brown eyes and curly hair. He was babbling away in baby language, and I couldn't resist.

"Hey there, little guy! What's your name?" I asked, kneeling beside his bed.

The kid looked up at me with a toothy grin. "Wanna pway wif you! Me Gowen!"

I smiled. "I'm Vivan, nice to meet you, Gowen! What's your favorite toy?"

Gowen's face lit up. "Wuv my baba! Baba go 'vroom'!"

I laughed. "That sounds like so much fun! Maybe I can play 'vroom' with you later?"

Gowen giggled, and we continued our conversation in baby language, much to Amol's amusement.

As we left the ward, Amol nudged me. "You're a natural with kids, Vivan. Maybe you should specialize in pediatrics!"

I grinned. "Maybe I will... but first, let's survive this internship!"

Little did I know, my life was about to take an unexpected turn, one that would bring me closer to someone special...
