Karan pov

I sat beside Gowen's bed, watching him play with his toys. He was such a bundle of energy, always curious and exploring his surroundings. I couldn't help but smile as I thought about how much he'd grown since I'd become his guardian.

Just then, a young doctor walked in, clipboard in hand. He had a kind face and sparkling eyes that immediately put me at ease. Gowen, too, seemed drawn to him, giggling as the doctor approached.

"Hi there, little guy! I'm Dr. Vivan. How are you today?" The doctor's voice was warm and gentle, and Gowen responded by babbling away in his baby language.

I watched, mesmerized, as Dr. Vivan interacted with Gowen. He was so patient and understanding, playing with Gowen and making him laugh. I found myself captivated by Dr. Vivan's smile, his bright eyes, and his effortless charm.

As Dr. Vivan continued his rounds, inspecting other kids and talking to their parents, I couldn't help but steal glances at him. There was something about him that drew me in, something that made me feel at ease.

When Dr. Vivan returned to Gowen's bedside, he smiled at me. "He's doing great. We'll likely discharge him soon."

I felt a surge of relief and gratitude. "Thank you, Doctor. That's wonderful news."

Dr. Vivan's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "Please, call me Vivan. We're not too formal here."

I smiled back, feeling a connection spark between us. "Karan. Nice to meet you, Vivan."

As we chatted, I found myself opening up to Vivan in ways I never thought possible. He was easy to talk to, and his kindness and empathy put me at ease.

Before I knew it, Vivan had to leave, but not before he ruffled Gowen's hair and said, "Take care, little guy. I'll see you soon."

As I watched Vivan walk away, I couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder. Who was this man who'd captured my attention so effortlessly? And why did I feel like I'd known him forever?

AT KARAN 'S HOUSE

I walked into my father's study, bracing myself for the confrontation ahead. "Father, I know you're worried about Gowen, but he's doing well. The doctor says he'll be discharged soon."

My father's face turned red with rage. "You idiot, Karan! You're wasting our family's resources on that...that bastard child! Your mother and I never wanted you to take him in, but you never listen!"

I clenched my jaw, trying to remain calm. "Gowen is innocent, Father. He's just a child. And I've adopted him, so he's legally my son now."

My father sneered. "Legally? Ha! He'll never be a true heir to our family's legacy. You're throwing away our family's reputation and fortune on a...a..."

I interrupted, my anger boiling over. "Enough, Father! I won't let you speak about Gowen like that. He's my son, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."

The argument ended with my father storming out of the room, leaving me shaken.

I took a deep breath and headed to Gowen's room, where I found him playing with his toys. I smiled, feeling a sense of peace wash over me.

"Hey, little guy! Time for bed, okay?"

Gowen giggled and snuggled into my chest as I rocked him to sleep.

After putting Gowen down, I headed to my office, located just next to his bedroom. My assistant, Aadvik, was already there, helping me with some files.

"Sir, these documents need your signature," Aadvik said, handing me a stack of papers.

I signed them, my mind still reeling from the argument with my father.

Aadvik left for the day, and I continued working, keeping a ear out for any sounds from Gowen's room.
