Vivan pov
Amol and I were discussing our patients' cases, sharing some laughs at our own silly jokes, when my phone rang. I groaned, "Duty calls, my friend."
Amol chuckled. "Go save the world, Dr. Vivan, well whose call was this","It was from Mr Karan I think Gowen is sick","Yes superhero go and save Gowen."
I smiled, remembering the cute kid from earlier. "Yeah, maybe I'll see him again tonight."
When I arrived, Karan was pacing, looking worried. Gowen was wailing, his tiny body shaking with sobs. I quickly took charge, examining Gowen and administering medication.
Karan watched anxiously as I worked. "Please, Doctor, what's wrong with him?"
I smiled reassuringly. "Just a fever and cold, Karan. He's in some pain, that's all. Nothing serious."
Gowen finally calmed down, and I rocked him to sleep. Karan's tension eased, replaced by gratitude.
"Thank you, Vivan. I don't know what I'd do without you."
I smiled. "That's what doctors are for. Now, get some rest. I'll check on Gowen again before I leave."
As I left Karan's house, I couldn't shake off the feeling that I'd just seen a different side of him - a side that was vulnerable, worried, and genuinely caring.
Little did I know, our paths would cross again soon.
I walked into my home, exhausted but content after a long night shift. My family was already up, enjoying a lazy Sunday morning.
My dad, sipping his tea, asked, "Vivan, how was your night shift? Any interesting cases?"
I smiled, taking a seat next to him. "Actually, yes. I went to Karan's house for an emergency. His son, Gowen, was unwell."
My mom, busy cooking in the kitchen, chimed in, "Oh, poor child! How is he now?"
"He's better, Mom. Just a fever and cold," I replied, yawning.
My dad continued, "And what about Karan? How's he handling fatherhood?"
I thought for a moment before responding, "He's a great dad, actually. Very caring and worried about Gowen's health."
My mom scolded my dad, "Enough about work, let Vivan rest! He's been up all night."
My little brother, Roony, teased me, "Yeah, bad brother! You never buy me clothes or gifts!"
I playfully ruffled his hair, "Shut up, Roony! I'll get you something soon."
As we enjoyed our family time, I couldn't help but think about Karan and Gowen. Karan was an amazing father, but I wondered... where was Gowen's mother?
My mom handed me a plate of my favorite chole bhature, and I dug in, savoring the delicious taste.
This happy family time was just what I needed after a long night shift. Little did I know, my thoughts about Karan and Gowen would soon lead to an unexpected encounter...
