I'd been on the egde all day.
I kept on snapping at everyone and out of everything.
I had to calm my ass down before tonight but by the way things were going now, I was no way near that.
I tried to ignore my mood thinking that I was just having a bad day, but in reality I knew exactly what was pissing me off like this.
You see, what truly bothered me was this mess I'd put myself in for free.
Let me explain.
I would be going to sacrifice one and a half year for this little test I was doing.
And it was not going as sweetly as I'd wished.
In fact, it had everything to do with my little misfunctioning lab bunny.
Colleen was far too broken to build a proper future for herself. She could barely handle her current state and had it not been for that out burst, I probably wouldn't even blinked an eye at the problem that was so clearly in front of me.
She was small and weak, but surprisingly enough she had survived all of those years in that society which tells me she's not purely made out of sugar either.
The girl had potential.
And I had an eye for potentials.
That is precisely why I decided to give her an other chance. A chance to unlock her better self.
A Colleen 2.0, one that would be known to all thanks to me.
She was going to be my Frankenstein. One that I had to break and rebuilt piece by piece.
It would take unnecessarily hard effort, but I believed that it would pay off.
Who knows, maybe she'll make something big by herself and people will remember me from behind her story, since I was the one that took her in.
A small grin took it's place on my lips as I hovered the rim of my wine glass in front of my mouth, taking a good sip of it.
I sighed with please because at this very moment, I was having a second to myself.
One that wasn't interrupted by whiny incapables buffoons.
One where I could sink into my chair and dance with the grape flavours of my beautiful wine.
One that was- '' Mr. McGowan. '' -Interrupted by a whiny incapable Buffoon.
I didn't bother answering as the man walked into my office holding his iPad in front of his face, focused on it's content.
'' Mr. and Mrs. Brown were wondering if they'd see you tonight. What should I answer? ''
I was starting to truly wonder if we even trained people before hiring them for me.
