Thomas and I had gotten back half an hour ago where our paths diverged to our rooms. I went to take a warm shower and changed into some joggers and a simple top.
Judging by how tired Thomas look in the car , I would've said that he probably went to sleep. But knowing his work habits, he most likely just went to his office.
A small yawn escaped my lips which was more than enough to make me lift up my covers and slide under the blanket, snuggling the mattrass and my mind went numb, ready to lull to sleep.
I heard my heart beat against the pillow, a peaceful quietude echoing against my walls as the covers ruffling at my movements and to top it all off, a light rain started to tap at the ceiling, creating a soft blue noise.
It was all so perfect I was on the brick of falling asleep in record time.
The rain sounded nice, until it started pouring harder. I tried to ignore the aggressive sound by dipping my head under the blankets, but I couldn't properly breath underneath.
The rain started pouring louder and louder till it felt like the ceiling would fall down and a storm would rise.
I tightened the covers around me trying to block the sound while focusing on steady breath and I was starting to get into a flow until the loud roar of the sky made me snap my eyes open as I bolted up, clinging the blanket to my chest as I backed up towards my bedframe.
That's when I felt it.
The chest tightening.

It roared again and this time I jumped off the bed, the darkness making this all so much worse.
I practically ran out of my room my feet hitting the heated floors as I counted again, a cold shiver making the hair on my skin high.
I stopped at the soft carpet and sat down to the vaste couch, pulling my legs to my chest small flinches of the thunder's sound keeping me wide awake.
I caressed my legs as I calmed my breath.
Distractedly, I looked at my side where a fluffy pillow laid. There were a few on this couch and with a quick move I grabbed one and held it against me, cuddling it, and tightening my grip a little at each thunderclap, the large window far in front of me giving me the perfect view of lightning streaks coming a few seconds before the sound.
I hugged the fluffy pillow, stroking it as I flushed my face onto the material while trying to find that goat like smell out of my memory and focus on only that.
Slowly, but surely I started to smell home.
I felt the old barn groan as wooden door creaked while it fought against the wind at the same time as I caressed my frightened goats, their proximity making my heart beat slow down and focus on them instead of myself. It was peaceful. I focused on those memories, wondering how everyone was doing till suddenly the loudest thunder hit, before it went all black.
