A day had passed and the two roommates had yet to resolve their undying distaste for each other. Hyebin awoke to find Gunwook's side of the room eerily quiet. She rolled over and squinted at the clock. It was already past 10 AM. She'd set her alarm for 9, but clearly, her sleep had been too deep to hear it.
As she got ready for the day, she noticed that Gunwook was nowhere to be found. His bed was unmade, and the clutter was still scattered across his side of the room. For a moment, she felt a twinge of curiosity about where he might be, but she quickly brushed it off. She had her own day to tackle, filled with lectures and meetings, and she didn't have time to dwell on Gunwook's whereabouts.
time skip:
It was the evening and Gunwook had yet to come home from a day out after he spent the whole 3 days they had been here in the dorm. Just as Hyebin sat down to do her homework, she hears the sound of the door click open and out emerges the familiar intruder, Park Gunwook.
Hyebin rolled her eyes, "Ugh your home". Gunwook was slightly taken aback "What's with your attitude? Plus why aren't you asleep yet miss Ki, its past your bedtime" Hyebin scoffed. It was around 11:50pm which was quite late for Hyebin to stay awake but she was busy so she had to take that expense. "I was enjoying my peace without you"
Gunwook leaned against the wall next to him with a slight smirk "you don't seem to like my company, huh" he raised an eyebrow then walked towards her and spotted her papers. "What are you doing so late anyways?" he asked curiously.
"Work. You should go to sleep its late and stop bothering me. Thanks" Hyebin said in a monotone voice not having Gunwook's irritating interations with her. "don't worry 'bout me, I can handle staying up late." he said in a defensive tone, taking a glance at the paper. "I'm not bothering you. I'm only asking you a question."
"Well i think your bothering me so could you leave me alone please. I'm asking nicely" Hyebin begged trying to focus on her work yet continuing to be interrupted by the boy's voice again. "No. I'm not going to." he says, looking at her in the eye.
Hyebin was now the one who was a bit taken aback "bruh just go away you must have better things to do than bothering me out of my mind please just leave me alone" She was frustraited at this point, stressing about the assignment she needed to finish and the boy who just wouldn't leave her alone.
He takes the paper off her, looking at what she'd done so far. "this looks easy. why are you still not done with it yet?" "I was busy earlier and couldn't get to do it so please just let me work or i'm gonna actually kick your ass Park Gunwook I swear to god" The look Hyebin gave him clearly showed how pissed she was and Gunwook was not gonna risk it. "Okay, okay fine i'll let you be." Suddenly, Gunwook stepped closer to her and leaned down towards her ear to whisper "But this won't be the last time i'll make you angry" He smirks as he looks her straight in the eyes, their faces close now.
"Wow Gunwook, what did one day out do to you? You sound so confident now don't you?" Hyebin responded as she raised her eyebrow at him. "I don't want to be here with you either or come home and see you out of all people so I hope you don't expect me to be playing your little games. So quit annoying me for both yours and my sake. got it?" Hyebin turned her chair around to face away from Gunwook who just stood there staring at the back of her head.
"Well, we'll just have to wait and see." Gunwook turned away muttering to himself as he smiled with amusement. He didn't know this goody too shoes girl was this feisty.
Hyebin sighed deeply, rubbing her temples in frustration. The paper she was working on was nowhere near finished, and the brief encounter with Gunwook had only added to her stress. She needed to focus, but the thought of him lingering in the background made it difficult to concentrate.
The night stretched on, and Hyebin finally managed to make some progress on her assignment. Around 2 AM, she collapsed into bed, her eyes heavy with exhaustion. Just as she was drifting off to sleep, she heard a muffled sound from Gunwook's side of the room—a mix of voices and music that seemed to seep through the thin walls. Annoyed, she tossed and turned, trying to block out the noise.
The roommates had not only failed to resolve their mutual animosity but had managed to make it even worse...
