It's a normal day today for Scarlett Martinez, she is sitting at work sitting at her desk typing up numbers for a new client. Scarlett is an accountant for a nice company called Skylight Financials, Scarlett is just about to close her laptop and be done for the day when her phone dings indicating that she has a new text message. When she picks up her phone she realizes that she must have been focused on her work since she sees she has three text messages. One from her mother, another from her best friend, and one from her other friend. Scarlett first opens the text from her mother

Mom:

'Hey baby, I hope you settling in well into your new apartment! We miss you so much. Don't forget about us!'

Scarlett chuckles as she reads this, her mother has always been a worry-wart when it came to her children. Her father always said it was a quality that he admired in his wife, a committed mother, and a loyal wife. Scarlett smiles happily as she texts her mother back.

Scarlett:

'Hey mom, yeah I'm settling in well. Finally got everything unpacked and put away. I miss you all too and how could I ever forget about you guys?'

Scarlett then opens the text message from her best friend Ava

Ava:

'Girl, we need to go out clubbing tonight!! And don't give me that lame ass excuse that you're too busy. We both know you are just going to sit on the couch and binge-watch Vampire Diaries. Live a little!!! I'm not taking no for an answer, I already texted Jasmine and she's down.'

Scarlett sighs but then chuckles, she has been best friends with Ava since they were in the first grade. They both are originally from Houston, Texas but they moved to New York to attend the same university, Ava went to college to get a degree in fashion where Scarlett got her degree in accounting. They met Jasmine at the University she was their roommate in the dorms. They all hit it off right away, Ava has always been loud and energetic and Jasmine is very forward and strong-minded. The complete opposite of Scarlett who is shy and likes to just watch from the background.

'Fine I'll go out it might be nice to get out and unwind a little bit and I luckily have tomorrow off so this is perfect. Where are we meeting up at?'

After Scarlett sends the text to Ava she opens the next text message from Jasmine

Jasmine:

'Hey, girl! Ava texted me and I'm assuming she texted you too, let's all go to Club Paradise and met up at 8 pm see ya there girl! DRESS SEXY FOR ONCE!!'

Scarlett chuckles and replies telling Jasmine that she did get a text from Ava and it sounded like a good plan and she would try to dress sexy but no promises. Scarlett then leaves the office and gets into her silver Toyota Camry and starts on her drive back home, Scarlett sees the traffic is pretty busy today which is normal for 4:30 pm so she decides to put on some music so she sets up her iPhone to the car and starts to play "Never Be The Same" by Jessica Mauboy.

After being in traffic for 2 hours she gets to her apartment and starts to get ready for tonight feeling excited that for once she gets to go out and not have to explain anything to her parents like she has been doing for the past 26 years.
