We arrived at Lucas's mansion, it was a silent car ride I had so many questions and had no idea where to start with asking...would he even answer any of them? His words kept repeating in my head over and over again like a broken record machine.

"Piper is my backstabbing ex-fiancé." What did she do? When did they break up? How long ago was this? How long were they together? Was she his submissive when they were together? This was all I could think about but should I ask? Once we got inside I just followed Lucas and we were in his bedroom now, he just sighed as he took off his suit jacket and as he started to untie his tie he looked over at me.

"Okay go ahead, I know your holding back what you want to say so just say it." I looked down at my feet, I mean he is giving me permission but should I? I swallowed the lump in my throat and without looking up I decided to ask him.

"Piper knew that I was in the Mafia, at this time I just took over as my father retired. I had a lot of work to do, I had to gain respect from our allies and prove that I could be just as strong and just as powerful as my father was. That's a huge task to complete, well Piper never wanted me to take over once my father retired she made the abundantly clear from the beginning but didn't care. It was the family business and I wasn't gonna let my father down like that. Well, I was finally gaining respect from the other Mafia's and we were working on a huge deal...Piper ratted me out to the police." I gasped at this, how could she do that to him? He could have been arrested...wait, was he arrested?

"Wh-what happened then?" I was so nervous to find out what had happened but I needed to know. Lucas closed his eyes and let out a low growl as if he was reliving it right now.

"The police arrested me, luckily nothing was set in stone yet with the deal so they had no proof and nothing against me so they had to release me and drop all the charges. My father hacked the police system to see who ratted and that's when we found out it was Piper...you have no idea have angry I was Scarlett...how hurt and how scared. When someone rats you out in the mafia you personally have to set an example out of them so no one else will ever dare do it also." My eyes went wide at this as I watched Lucas sit down on the bed and he bent down to take his shoes off.

"Rebecca told me I should torture her, make her wish death...normally I would have...but this was my fucking fiancé how could I do that to the one person I loved the most you know?"

I slowly sat down next to Lucas and placed my hand on his shoulder. "You don't have to tell me what happened if you don't want to Lucas." He just shook his head and sighed.

"No, you have a right to know...I was weak, I couldn't hurt her...I loved her...so I had one of my men do it instead. Normally this would be okay but word got out that I didn't do it and just like that all the respect I gained was lost in a flash of a light...everything I worked towards and everything I built I had to watch crumble down to the ground. Piper was killed by one of my men, I knew I should have done it but I just couldn't...it took me ten years to rebuild what I have today. I never looked into relationships just hookups, that was until I met you, Scarlett." Lucas now looks me in the eyes.
