I woke up at about eight this morning. I had just finished calling my lawyers. I told them the situation and they said that they would contact the police and DFCS Monday Morning, everything was closed for the weekend. That it would be the safest for her to stay with me until Monday Morning and explain everything. After the call I went down to the kitchen to make breakfast. Pancakes, Sausage, eggs, and Bacon. Rose came down first, and a few minutes later, Cosmo came down.
'Is there someone staying in the guest room?' Rose asked me. Perfect timing. 'Yes, that's actually want I want to talk to you kids about' I said placing all the plates on the table and sitting down. 'Do you remember me telling you about my coworker, the young one? Savannah, She's twelve' I said. 'yeah' Rose said. 'well, She's going through something and I'm trying to get her stay here for a while.' I said. 'What do you mean? going through something, a while?' Cosmo asked. 'Well, not everyone has good parents who treat them right' I said. 'Her dad isn't nice to her and there a possibility that I may try and get custody of her' I said. 'so she's being abused.' Cosmo bluntly said. 'well, yes, I found her last night in rough shape last night. so She'll be staying in the guest room, and there will be people coming over Monday morning to talk to her and possibly us. but in the mean time, you two need to be on your best behaviors' I said. 'We will' Rose said. 'Gotcha' Cosmo said. 'now eat up, what do our day look like today?' I asked. 'We both have soccer practice at noon, then I'm going out to lunch with some of my teammates, I'll drop cosmo off first though.' Rose said. 'thank you rose!' I said. Luckily Rose had a car and a license. I heard footsteps going down the stairs. We all turned around. Savannah was walking down, she was in the clothes I set out for her. 'Hey Savannah, how do you feel' I said softly. 'I'm alright' She said with a soft smile. 'here, come sit, come!' I said Leading her to a empty seat with a plate of food. 'this is Rose, She is my eldest, She is seventeen!' I said pointing to rose. 'and this is Cosmo, my youngest, And he is fourteen!' I said pointing to cosmo. 'What's it like?' Cosmo asked. Dear Lord. Please be nice, please be nice. 'What?' Savannah asked. 'To get abused.' Cosmo asked. you gotta be kidding me. 'Cosmo.' I said sternly.
After breakfast, Savannah went to shower. We all stood in the kitchen. 'You need to think before you speak, Cosmo.' I said. 'What!' He said with his hands raised. 'You need to be nice, Don't bring that up, There was no need!' I said sternly. 'Sorry.' He mumbled. 'Now please clean your room and organize the game room for me before you get ready for soccer!' I said to the kids. 'okay' They both said before going upstairs. I went over to my office. I opened up my computer to pinterest. if Savannah was staying here I wanted her to feel welcome. Her room should be decorated. I scrolled until i Found a couple options. I stood up looking for Savannah. I knocked on her door. 'Can i come in, baby?' I asked. 'mhm' She mumbled. She was in her bed watching something on her laptop. 'Hey Savannah' I said walking over and sitting on the edge of the bed. 'So, I talked with my Lawyers this morning..' I began. She furrowed her eyebrows. 'About what?' She asked. 'about you. Savannah, I want to get custody of you.' I said. Her eyes kind of widened. she had this soft smile. 'like I could stay with you, I wouldn't have to go back home?' She asked. 'Mhmm!' I said smiling. 'Listen, I know you never grew up with a mom who was mentally there, but I'd be honored if I could take her place!' I said cautiously. 'I would love that!' She said giving me a big hug. We hugged for what seemed like forever. 'The Lawyers said that everything was closed during the weekend...DCFS will be here Monday, along with the police officer. I know it's going to be scary but I'll be with you, when they come explain everything to them, be honest with them! and I'm sure I'll get custody of you!' I said. She looked a little nervous. But then gave me a soft smile. 'And, I was thinking we can redo this room, As it will be yours!' I said. 'We can look on pinterest for some ideas!' I said. She has this huge smile on her face. She pulled up pinterest on her computer and I moved from the edge of the bed to sitting under the covers right next to her. After a while we found a inspo. 'you like that one?' I asked. 'Yes!' She said. 'Alright, my husband will be back tomorrow we can have him go out and buy the stuff to redo your room and he can do it for us!' I said. She closed out pinterest and went to what she was watching. She was watching Full House. She laid her head on my shoulder as she watched it.
The she as pretty much spent like that. Rose came in to say that she was leaving. I went downstairs to cook lunch I cooked us mac and cheese and went back up with the two bowls. We watched it all day. We moved downstairs after lunch though. Rosie dropped Cosmo off at home at around two-thirty. He went upstairs and showered and played video games the rest of the day. I cooked speghetti and meatball for dinner. Rose got home just in time for dinner. 'Thank you for making dinner, Scarlett!' Savannah said. 'Of Course, I'm the mom of the house, it's what I do!' I said. She just looked at me with this curious expression. 'Do you want me to cut that up for you?' I asked Savannah. She was trying to cut her spaghetti up but was having some trouble. 'Yes, Please' She said. I took the plate and cut it up for her. She mumbled a thanks and dug in.
After dinner we all went out separate ways. All in our rooms. Rose went to shower and then god knows what. Cosmo went to play video games. and Savannah went to shower and watch something on her computer. I went to my office. It was only two thirty in NYC. I called Colin. they didn't have their office live rehearsal until 8pm. 'Hey Col' I said. 'Hey Scar, What's up' He said. 'Do you remember me telling you about Savannah?' I asked. 'Savannah...yeah, You were worried about her, her home life.' He said. 'Yeah, uh, well. I, uhm, Saw her yesterday, I was driving back from late night scene. She was walking and she...she was drunk. Her Mom left her saying that it was all her fault. Her dad came home later and screamed at her saying it was her fault, that she was a....Slut. He had friends over and they pushed her down the stairs and forced her to...Drink alcohol. God, She was drunk. twelve years old girl drunk...it's crazy.' I said. 'Oh, Is she okay? you said you ran into her on the drive home?' He asked. 'I helped her in and she's staying in our guest room. Her dad kicked her out. I'm sure he'll want her back at some point. but, uh, Colin, What if we took her in?' I asked. 'What like adopt her?' He asked. 'Yes, Adopt her, take her in as our own.' I said. 'I think that's a great idea, but did you call our lawyers?' He asked. 'Yes, They've reached DFCS and the police, they're coming monday.' I said. 'That's good, Listen I have to go, but I'll see you Tomorrow afternoon.' He said. 'okay, bye, Love you' I said. 'Love you' He said. 'wait, We also need to redo her room, We picked out an inspo, can you pick up the supplies tomorrow?' I said. 'oh yeah, if you send me the picture and write a shopping list I'll pick it up tomorrow, or monday' He said. 'Bye' I said. and we hung up. I looked at the inspo and sent it to colin and came up with a shopping list for her room and sent it to colin too.
Afterwards I went around the house to Tidy up. Then I swept up the kitchen, the living room. Mops it. Wiped down the kitchen. Water the Plants. I packed the kids Lunches for the week and put it in the fridge. By that time it was ten. Then I went up to my room and showered. it was a quarter til eleven. I Brushed my hair putting it into a ponytail and put my pajama set on. l went to check on the kids. I checked on Cosmo first. He was playing video games, Screaming. Those video games were really violent. 'Hey, Cos' I said. 'Sup' He said. 'Don't stay up too late, and place be more quiet, I don't want you to end up waking Savannah or anyone else.' I said. 'okay.' He said. I closed the door going to rosie's room to check on her. She was awake talking on the phone to her boyfriend. 'Hey Rosie, Don't stay up too late' I said. 'I won't, love you night' She said. 'Goodnight, Rosie' I said closing the door. Then I checked up on Savannah, I opened the door and she was asleep, He computer was still open the light still on. I went over to her Closing the computer, setting it on her nightstand, I took out my phone taking a pic. I put my phone in my pocket. 'Goodnight, Sweetheart.' I said. Turning the light off and Closing the door. Then I went to my room. I pulled my phone out texting Lizzie.
