Velvette smiled to herself while she read through the comments section on her phone. It was full of people praising her for what she'd done. Velvette was no stranger to compliments, but for once they felt meaningful.
She checked her watch. 11:44. Sixteen minutes left.
Her phone buzzed, capturing her attention once more. Vox was calling. Boomer. She thought to herself. Why doesn't he just text? Nevertheless, she picked up with a smirk. "Hey Vox. I didn't realize you were a sixty year old accountant. Why don't you fucking text like a normal person?"
"Haha. Hilarious." He sounded distracted, like he was in the middle of something important. "Listen, Vel, I need to tell you somethi-"
"Did you see the post I made? It's already gone viral!" Velvette interrupted.
"Yeah, it's great, but-"
"And the comments are crazy. Most of them want to kill him, but some want to bang him? Well, they can do both once midnight comes." Velvette went on, only half paying attention to Vox.
"Velvette, I-"
"Val's gonna lose his shit when he sees how many people turn up. I can't wait to show hi-"
"Valentino's dead!" Vox said loudly, cutting over her.
Velvette was silent for a good minute. "I...what?"
Vox sighed. "I'm sorry. It's all my fault. I should've-"
She hung up before he could finish, letting her phone clatter to the ground. It buzzed relentlessly as he called her again. She ignored it.
He's gone. It didn't feel real just yet. Was it even true? There's only one way to find out.
Velvette reached down and picked up her phone. She sat on the floor, because she didn't trust her legs to hold her weight anymore. She declined the call from Vox and opened Sinstagram.
The posts flooded her feed.
Pictures of the moth demon, battered and bruised on the floor of the Vees tower. Some of them were captioned with memes. Others with heartfelt messages. Most of them with a basic 'rip lol'.
Velvette scrolled through image after image, taking in the gruesome scene. Blood leaked out of his body, forming a puddle on the floor. She could see Vox, kneeling next to him with a terrified expression.
She shoved her fist in her mouth and let out a muffled sob. Adam was in the room next to her and she was not going to let that asshole hear her cry. She bit her lip, hard, and blood trickled down her chin. She relished the pain silently.
Don't dwell on it. He's gone. There's nothing you can do.
Suddenly, another comment pops up, under the post she made with Adam earlier. It read 'Val would've wanted this.' Before she can process, more comments appear.
'I lost my daughter two years ago in an extermination. Thank you, Velvette, for giving me the chance to give her justice.'
'I lost my whole family to Adam. He killed them himself, with a smile on his face. I'm looking forward to tonight.'
'You've done a great thing, Velvette.'
'#revenge'
'I hope that for once, the citizens of Hell can come together, and make a stand by doing something meaningful. We can show Heaven what happens when they try to oppress us."
"how big is adam's cock pls send pics"
Her phone buzzed in her hand as she received more text messages.
[Vox - 11:56 PM]: velvette pick up
[Vox - 11:56 PM]: r u ok?
[Vox - 11:57 PM]: pls answer
[Vox - 11:57 PM]: you don't have to do this alone
[Vox - 11:58 PM]: pick up the fucking phone your scaring me
Velvette pocketed her phone and peered outside. Her and Adam were near a storage building near the entrance of Lu Lu World. From the window, she could see the crowd.
Huge was an understatement. Sinners were waiting outside for seemingly miles, shouting and holding signs and torches. The theme park manager looked pitifully overwhelmed. This is probably the most people to ever show up at this lame-ass carnival.
Some of the demons carried guns, others seemed content to use their bare hands. The ground was littered with bullets, gunpowder, and for some reason, condoms.
Velvette made her way over to Adam, who was pale as a ghost. He was shaking, his eyes wide as he heard the shouts coming from the crowd. His eyes darted to Velvette, then the clock on the wall, which read 11:59. Tears streamed down his face as he cried uncontrollably.
Outside, someone fired a shot. The bang was frighteningly loud, and Adam let out a muffled sob, closing his eyes.
Velvette didn't taunt him for crying. She didn't say anything as she dragged his chair to the door. She didn't need to.
She ripped off the duct tape, and Adam didn't say anything either. He just gasped for air. Velvette walked behind his chair.
In one swift motion, she pulled out a knife, cut his binds, opened the door in front of him, and tipped him out of the chair. He fell on his hands and knees in front of the crowd, and Velvette slammed the door shut before he could react. She heard a roar of approval from the crowd. She half expected Adam to pound on the door, but there was nothing. It seems he had accepted his fate.
Velvette walked away from the door, the sounds getting quieter. The torture had no doubt begun. She pulled out her phone and texted Vox.
[Velvette - 12:01 AM]: today is gonna be a fucking happy day in hell
A/N: This is the last chap!!! Well... there may or may not be a bonus chapter :)
