2 MONTHS LATER

"Y'all ladies have a good summer, be back and ready for summer sessions in a couple weeks." "Huskies on 2, One, Two, Huskies!"

With Coach Peterson letting us off for the summer, it never really occurred to me that I wouldn't have anything to this summer except get those extra reps. Everyone is going to their hometowns or on vacation but I feel as though I don't know where home is anymore or what it feels like for that matter. Ever since all the Nebraska girls basically shunned me, I've felt more like a floater. If not for Paige and Azzi and the teams company I wouldve been even lonelier. On the topic of Paige, she and I have been joined at the hip ever since I arrived on campus. Azzi is happy that we're so close while she doesnt know about all the making out and late nights Paige and I have indulged in.

Of course there Paige was as I walked out of the gym. After she walked me home that one time we just mutually established that she'd be there after every practice. To walk or drive me home. "Hey stranger" She pulled me in for a hug. "Hey you" I sighed into the hug, taking in her scent.

"So..you got any plans for the summer Y/N?" She asked as she drove.

"Not really I mean new school, not that many friends."

"Okay well I was thinking maybe if you wanted to fly back home with me? Th-theres no rush and I'll give you time to think about it cuz I'm not leavi-" She stammered.

That pit formed in my stomach again. Paige had chosen me to go with her to see her family. And I knew we were close but this made me feel even closer to her. Like I could tell her anything and everything.

"Yes." I cut her off.

"Wait yeah you want to?" She smiled as she gently placed her hand on my thigh.

"I dont wanna impose but if you're open to that well then so am I." I smiled nervously at her.

"Hell yeah Y/N" She laughed as she grabbed my hand and kissed it.

Everything she did made my heart do a billion back flips, the way she touched me and kissed me. I knew regular friends didn't act this way but every time I was with her I just wanted her more. I needed her presence and most of the time I felt like she needed mine too.

"Walk me up to my dorm?" I asked her as she parked the car.

"Always." She grinned as she slung her arm around my shoulders, walking us up to my dorm.

"You know KK and Ice want to meet later at chic fil a, they wanna do some challenge" Paige said as she followed me into the apartment.

"Are you asking me to go with you Bueckers?" I grinned.

"What do you think?" Paige followed me into my bedroom.

"No?" I turned to put my gear in my closet.

"Oh really?" She stood in my way as I turned back around, trapping me between her and my closet door. We stood there for awhile, relaxing in each others eyes. Her eyes flickered to my lips then back to my eyes before she kissed me. Like muscle memory my hands made their way to the nape of her neck and hers around my waist.

"How bout now hm?" She pulled away.

"Still no" I walked to my bed before flopping face first.

"Y/N" Paige rolled her eyes before joining me on my bed.

"Y/N can't talk it's nap time now" I said into my pillow.

"Now??"

"Yes Paige, how do you think we'll have energy for the chic fil a thing later?" I faced her
