Y/NS POV

PB😝: Y/N.

My phone buzzed while I rewatched the clips from KK's tiktok live.

PB😝: Y/N answer the phone.

I swiped away her notification as I watched the clip of her answering the 'do you have your eye on anyone' question. My stomach contorted with anticipation as fans in the comments speculated that it wasn't me but one of the girls from my volleyball team. Audrey, the coaches daughter to be exact.

My phone buzzed repeatedly as Paiges contact lit up on my phone. I didn't want to answer her call in fear of what she would say and how I would react. The ringing stopped and shortly started again as she called for a second time.

"Hello?" I answered the call.

"Nice of you to answer on the second call." Paige said.

"What do you want Paige?" I sighed.

"I'm guessing you saw KK's live and I wanna explain in person if you'll let me."

"I don't have time Paige I'm heading to an evening practice in a bit." I rubbed my forehead.

"Okay but I just wanted to let you know that I was talking about you. Not Audrey. I haven't spoken with her since forever. I swear it." Paige pleaded.

"You don't have to swear anything because we aren't dating." I brushed her off even though I could feel a pit in my stomach forming.

"Y/N come on...I know this is making you feel weird." Paige sighed.

"I gotta go Paige. Bye." I hung up before she could reply. My feelings were all over the place. It wasn't a secret that Paige and I acted more than friends but it also wasn't secret that we were not dating. Everyone knew how close we were but the topic of a relationship never really happened between us. Then with Paige getting that question earlier today and people speculating that it was Audrey just gave me a bad feeling. A feeling that I wouldn't have to worry about if Paige and I remained regular friends. Not the friends who kiss from time to time and get jealous, because this isn't a relationship.

"Hey Y/N." Taylor walked into the gymnasium with me.

"Hey T."

"You good?" She noticed my mood.

"Yeah just..Paige." I sighed.

"Well the best part is you can let it all out right now on the court." Taylor hooked our arms together as we joined the huddle.

"Alright ladies we're going to be working as hard as we possibly can tonight. We need as much reps as possible as we go into conference games soon. 5 laps and sprint the last two for me." Coach Peterson instructed.

After those laps we got into all the basics, hitting, passing, setting and serving. At then end was a scrimmage, a regular 6 on 6.

"I want all three touches ladies, this isn't tennis!" Coach shouted.

"Yes Yes Yes! Outside Outside!" I called for the setter. As I approached that ball I put everything behind my hit. I let it go. As the ball started to travel downwards it knocked Audrey in face on the way down.

"YES Y/N!" Taylor cheered.

"Oh..." The rest of the team said collectively.

"Audrey are you okay?" Coach asked her.

"Hey you alright?" I walked over to her with my hand out, feeling a bit remorseful.

"I'm fine." She pushed my hand away and picked herself up.
