3 WEEKS LATER, MID JUNE 2022 SUMMER SESSIONS

Just like Coach Peterson had promised, summer sessions were in session. With the unfortunate news that we would be sharing Gampel with the basketball girls because our gym and weight room was conveniently under renovation. For the first day we started conditioning in the gym with a bunch of running exercises, we were in early to get in before the basketball team.

"Once yall are done your 3 laps I want you sprinting the 4th one, got it?" Coach directed us. Once those laps were finished it was on to suicides of the whole gym. Some girls started puking but that only ended up with us running more. As we continued to run, the gym doors opened to reveal that basketball team coming into the gym. We all stopped as we watched them come in.

"Did I say stop? Lets go ladies!" Coach yelled and blew her whistle.

We continued running the suicides as some of the girls snickered at us as their Coach Geno spoke to Coach Peterson. I made faces at Ice, Nika and KK as they laughed at me, I chuckled back. Then my eyes landed on Paige, she basically avoided my eyes as she looked where I was not.

"Alright girls thats enough, good work. I want you to take a quick water break then meet me in the weight room." Coach exited the gym. I tried to look unphased and not tired but I slumped right to the ground once I got near the door.

"Damn Y/N your coach does not play with yall." Nika grinned.

"And doesn't cuz I would be puking too." Ice said.

"She made us do that after running 4 laps by the way." I got up to go get my water bottle, when Paige stood in front of me, and handed it to me.

"Thanks.." I trailed off before I left. So she got my water bottle for me but wont look me in the eye, interesting. After all that training, the volleyball and basketball team ended at the same time.

"This place is like a damn maze." I wandered around the halls of Gampel.

"You lost?" I heard from behind me.

"I dont know Paige what does it look like?" I said with sarcasm.

"Do you want help out this place or are you gonna keep sassing me." She rolled her eyes.

"I'll pick the latter and keep sassing." I continued to wander.

"C'mon Y/N are you seriously gonna be like this? Im sorry okay." Paige pleaded.

"yeah whatever...friend." I pivoted around bumping into her. We stood there for awhile, eyes flickered to each others lips. She inched closer to me putting her hand on my face.

"Paige we can't, we're just friends." I looked down.

"Right...you're totally right." She backed up a bit.

"Look our fight was terrible, I didn't sleep for days after. Thats how much I care about you Y/N. I'm sorry." She apologised.

"I haven't slept either.." I sighed.

"I'm sorry too Paige." I hugged her. She was stunned before she hugged me back, curling her arms around me.

"Wings and a movie tonight?" She asked.

"Always." I smiled as we left together. The thought of her kissing me still lingered in the back of my mind.

MID JULY 2022

"Mmh" I moaned against Paiges lips.

"Gosh those lips taste so good." Paige deepened our kiss.

"We- we shouldn't." I held back a moan as she attacked my neck.
