P.O.V. – Big 5

"Okay, so... how, exactly, is this a good idea?" Jack shouted.

It was another sunny summer day in Safe Haven. The weather was immaculate and there were even a few Fish of Peace in the sky despite the fact that it wasn't night. If there was ever a perfect day, this was it.

So Jack was wondering why he and his friends were currently spending it standing on top of one of the aforementioned Fish of Peace.

Zill had carried each of the Big 5 up to the large sharklike creature one-by-one, until all of them were standing on its back as it floated through the air. He and Spam had come up with the "brilliant" idea to go bird-hopping, which involved leaping off the back of an atmospheric beast and onto that of one of the many large mutant avians that filled Safe Haven's sky.

As mentioned earlier, in Jack's opinion, it wasn't exactly the brightest idea.

"Oh, c'mon, Jack! Don't be a baby!" Zill called back, crouching with a wild grin on his face as a flock of giant four-eyed bluejays drew near. "This is gonna be sick!"

"I'm gonna be sick!" Jack shrieked before covering his mouth and fighting back a wave of vomit as the Fish of Peace made a slight lurching motion.

"Buck up, ya softie!" Kayla laughed. "Don't be a sheila! Y'gonna have a rippah time!"

"Just think of it as your first time flying!" Spam encouraged him, bouncing up and down excitedly. "It'll be fun, yeah?"

"I've been flying! I hated it!" Jack protested. "Zill accidentally dropped me!"

"Okay, uh, first off, I got attack by a random crow, which was probably brought by your bad luck!" Zill pointed out with a smirk. "Secondly, that technically makes it your fault!"

"MY FAULT?!" Jack screeched.

"Sorry, can't hear you! The flock's here!" Zill yelled, spreading his wings as the flock drew ever nearer.

"I am not doing this!" Jack wailed. "Do you know how long it'll take to put myself back together if I—"

Vanexa—who was seated on the Fish's back with a book in her paws—promptly kicked Jack's leg out from underneath him, making him yelp, slip, and fall off the Fish.

Jack screamed as he tumbled through the air, but that scream came to an abrupt halt when he landed on one of the bluejays' backs.

Zill let out a whooping laugh as he leapt onto another bluejay's back, holding tight to its neck feathers. "You gotta live a little, Jack!" he called to his best friend.

"A little?! I live WAY too much already!" Jack shrieked back.

Kayla and Spam followed Zill's lead, landing on mounts of their own, while Vanexa simply rolled off the Fish of Peace's back before settling on a bird that had been right alongside it.

"Oi! What's all this, then?" one of the unmounted birds in the flock exclaimed in annoyance. "'ave you lot lost your bloomin' 'eads?"

"Chill, Henry! We're just going for a ride!" Zill told him, waving over his shoulder. "These guys don't mind!"

"Mind? I've 'alf a 'mind' to slap yer a--e out the bloody sky!" Henry squawked, flapping his wings angrily. "Quit ridin' me mates, ya pikey!"

"Uh-oh. Looks like the boss is mad." Zill gulped and tugged on his mount's feathers. "C'mon, guys! Let's shred some cloud!"
