ITZY One-Shot story series (Ryeji)

Thunder

It was heavily storming outside. Harsh winds, heavy rainfall, and most of all, thunder. Thunder isn't everyone's favorite. Well, some are. Others might think thunder is the sound of power. Power that collides with the mind and turns it into something calming or peaceful.

Thunder can also resemble rage. Rage that unleashes the power to feel powerful. But in the end, power turns into soft, yet calming feelings that turn down the pressure of intensity.

Ryujin sat down in the living room, casually watching some TV. She could hear the hard thunderstorm booming through the walls of the ITZY dormitory. Nearby trees and tree branches shook as the winds tried in an attempt to pry their strong wills off of the Earth's grounds. Tree branches fought with each other, creating a chilling sound that almost sounded like a tornado was nearby.

Ryujin checked her phone earlier and saw that the weather would end up bad for the rest of the night. She didn't react to the sudden change. She wasn't planning on going out or anything.

She knew the weather was acting up due to the clouds transforming from fluffy whiteness to dark gloomy colors.

She assumed the other members knew about it and had decided to stay in rather than deal with the challenges of going to places that were accompanied by rain.

Ryujin was glad today was their day off and none of the members had to deal with the rainy situations. Ryujin didn't mind going to work on a rainy day as many people have to travel from home to their work, even on a rainy day. They had no choice, but to challenge their way into the rainfalls.

The rain didn't bother ITZY one bit. But if the weather was so bad, postponing or cancellations were a thing. Ryujin occasionally finds weather changes annoying, as it create time to waste and energy to be put.

Ryujin wore a grey hoodie with comfy track pants. She comfortably rested on the couch, and occasionally went on her phone, scrolling through feeds, posts, messages, and others while still focusing back on the TV, watching a drama.

So far, there was only harsh rain and rough winds, sounding through the walls. The sounds can be reassuring or, whatever the person thinks. But for Ryujin, she doesn't mind. She sometimes enjoys the sounds of the heavy rainfalls that poured all their might.

Ryujin wasn't sure if any of the members were afraid of thunder. It didn't cross her mind to question if they did. All she knows is herself.

She was around them almost every day, even during snowy, rainy, and windy days. But she hasn't seen a slight reaction change when it comes to a thunderstorm.

Maybe she hasn't witnessed their reactions to it yet and assumed they are fine.

A big white flash appeared on the window for a quick second, causing Ryujin to look at the window for a moment. There was no difference in how bright it was as Ryujin has been in front of multiple cameras with big flashes. It didn't surprise her, and she looked back at the TV.

Out of nowhere, a disturbing, loud, boom vibrated all around her, creating a mini earthquake to the place. That caught Ryujin off guard as she never heard thunder being so close. She must've thought that's why the bright flash from earlier was brighter than before.

Before she could even pause the TV or barely touch the remote, the lights suddenly went out, leaving the place in total darkness. Ryujin irritatingly sighed. At least, she didn't have to turn off the TV as it was already turned off.
