Wills POV

Jonathan pulled up to the drop off point in front of my school.
"Remember you'll have to stay here next weekend because I have work yeah?"
I just nodded back at him. I really hope Max or Dustin are staying here next weekend because I know El and Lucas always leave.
"Bye Jonathan."
I hopped out of the car and shut the door behind me, walking into my own personal hell. I'm only here because it's free for my family. I got a scholarship last year and it really made my mom happy so I can't leave now. I have more friends here than my old school as well so I guess that's a plus.

I just really can't stand Troy and his fucking groupies though. I've never even spoken to them or done anything to them but for some reason I've been their target since day one. Maybe it's because they know they can beat me in a fight or they know I'm not a snitch. But like why would I snitch if it would just give them more reason to fuck me up.

I walked with haste through the old hallways and winding staircases to my dorm because I needed to leave my jacket and backpack before dinner finished. I've never understood why dinner is so short. The kitchens only open for twenty minutes and yeah your given a while to eat but if you miss those twenty minutes your fucked.

I finally arrived to my dorm and I burst the door open, throwing my bag and jacket onto my bed. But suddenly something- someone caught me dead in my tracks. Someone quite literally jumped up in the other bed that's been empty since the start of year. I stared wide eyed in shock at this mystery man who was sleeping in my room and he just stared back at me, looking groggy and tired.

He had dark and messy hair, with brown eyes. He was pale with freckles and defined features. He got up out of bed and oh my god- he was so tall. Definitely at least a head taller than me, it was pretty intimidating to be honest.

"Sorry about that, I wasn't- I didn't know anyone else would be here." I was already stumbling over my words, amazing first impression.
"Yeah okay your fine," He grumbled dismissively while he checked his watch, "is dinner over?"
I looked behind him and spotted his suitcase and backpack confirming he was in fact new.
"There's another ten minutes before the kitchen closes, if you want I can show you where it is I'm going there now as well." I looked everywhere except at him, I didn't want him to think I was weird or something by staring at him.
"Nah I'll be fine." He mumbled and pushed past me to leave the room. I watched him leave and turn left.
"That's not the way." I stated shortly as he turned to face me again. He sighed and motioned for me to start walking in the right direction.

"You know I could've gotten there the other way. It would've just taken a bit longer." He said as he trailed behind me.
"Okay but you would have missed dinner. Don't be stubborn." I could already tell this guy was gonna drive me insane.
"You don't even know me would you know if I'm stubborn or not."
"Your literally being stubborn right now."
"Yeah yeah whatever you say Will." That shocked me a little, how did he know my name?
"How do you know my name?"
"Troy told me." For fucks sake. That was my cue to shut up because I really didn't want to start an actual problem with this guy.
"Mhm." I stated plainly. I really didn't want to keep talking to this guy, if I said anything wrong he could have gotten Troy after me. We just kept walking in an awkward silence toward the dinner hall.
"I'm Mike."
"Okay, well we're here Mike." At least now I can put a name to the face.

The dinner hall was full of students. Some who had stayed the weekend and some who had gone home for the weekend. Through the entrance to your right was the queue to receive your food on trays from the kitchen, and dozens of tables stretched across the rest of the large room. It seemed that dinner tonight was some sort of tomato pasta from what I saw on people's trays.

I walked in with Mike continuing to trail behind me.
"The queue starts over there." I stated to him, turning to look over my shoulder so I could make sure he heard me.
"I have eyes." He mumbled while joining the queue behind me. Who the fuck does this guy actually think he is? He just got here and I'm literally just helping him.
"Will you please get off your fucking high horse and just thank me for making sure you didn't get lost and starve?" I didn't care if this got me in trouble with Troy, someone had to fix Mike's shitty attitude.
"Thank you so so much for making sure I didn't starve you are so kind." Mike replied sarcastically. I actually couldn't deal with this bitch anymore. I turned away from him and just waited impatiently to get to the top of the queue so I could get away from him without lashing out at him anymore than I already have.

After I had finally gotten my food I made my way to my friends, who were waving me over to their table. I have four friends in school and I honestly don't know what I would do without them. Max was the first friend I made when I came to this school. I sat behind her in English class and she turned around to compliment my t-shirt. From then on we've been close friends. That day she introduced me to her friend group and I honestly fit in really well. It was just her, Dustin, El and I for a while until Max started going out with Lucas and we've stayed that way since. It's nice to know that I belong with these people, and they'll never judge me.

"Who was the tall boy you were now talking to? Looks like he was bothering you." El questioned to me as I sat down. El's English was a little broken as she had came from another country, though come to think of it she never specified which and she never spoke of it.
"His name is Mike. He's my new roommate." As I grumbled this we all turned in unison to look at Mike. Our eyes followed him as went to sit down.. at Troy's table. Seriously?
"Must be a real dick if he's sitting with them. I really thought you'd have the room to yourself this year that's so unlucky." Dustin said sympathetically.
"Maybe Tory just got to him first and he's not that bad. Do you know when he got here?" Max inquired.
"Probably today, he hasn't unpacked or anything. It was partly my fault he's being annoying though, I woke him up from a nap but like I didn't know he would be there. I also made up for it by bringing him here because he didn't know how. But then the fucker wouldn't even say thank you I had to force it out of him. So actually it's not my fault I take that back. I made up for it by not letting him starve." I realised I was rambling as everyone had just stopped and stared at me.
"Seems like he's really made an impression." Lucas remarked as he smirked and stifled a laugh. This caused Max to do the same and before I knew it, everyone had erupted in laughter while I just stared at them disappointed, ignoring their continued bickering about Mike.

I searched the hall with my eyes, looking for Troy's table. My eyes landed on Mike and he was already staring at me. As we locked eyes I tried to read him and he looked.. confused? Like he was trying to figure me out. And I was really trying to figure him out too, if he would stop being annoying and let me.
