Mikes POV

"Should be sometime next week. I hope it'll be fully healed." Will explained. He had changed his position and was curled up into my side, his head now resting on my chest. I hummed in acknowledgment and began to play with his hair, relaxed and grateful to feel how I did right now. I never thought I would feel this way for another boy but it all just felt so right. So natural. Ever since we 'started over' I knew there was something special about him. He was so perfect in everything he did, and so, so, beautiful. Every time he was around me, I couldn't look at anything but him, admiring and taking in every part of him as if it was my last time. I was completely and utterly im awe, in awe of how he could casually be that beautiful.

"Mike.. Mike." I hadn't even noticed Will was trying to get my attention until he physically waved his hand in my face.
"Sorry, lost in thought."
"What were you thinking about?"
"You."
Will flushed and dismissed me, getting up off the bed. He went over to his wardrobe and took out a backpack which he then started to pack with clothes. Right. I forgot about that.

"Do you have to leave this weekend? I'm gonna be so lonely." I pouted. I knew this wasn't going to stop him but it was worth a shot.
"Oh don't try that with me," he laughed, "you still have Max and Lucas."
"Yeah but they're not you. And I'll just be third wheeling." I protested and he just laughed even harder at me.
"You think my sufferings funny? Oh you're gonna get it now." I said as menacingly as I could without bursting into laughter, and jumped out of bed, running to Will and hugging him from behind, squeezing him as tight as I could.

"Mike you're suffocating me!" He laughed. "It's only two days."
"Two days too long." I mumbled, trying to sound annoyed. Will just giggled and squirmed his way out of my hug to turn around and plant a kiss on my cheek, then goingback to finish packing his bag. I didn't want to distract him anymore incase it made him forget something, so I retreated to my bed and flopped onto it. His mom and brother were meant to arrive any minute now, and they'd go back to California. It was a long drive, but so was Hawkins. This place was really in the middle of no where.

Just as Will was zipping up his backpack there was a knock on the door and a young man opened the door.
"Jonathan!" Will exclaimed. He ran to him and hugged him, that must be his brother then. The hug was quick, and when they were finished I got up to go Introduce myself.
"I'm Mike, nice to meet you."
"Jonathan." He shook my hand firmly and at this distance I could see just how similar him and Will were. His hair was longer and shaggier, but their facial features were very similar and their expressions were almost identical.

"Anyway Will, mom's in the car so we best get going." Jonathan explained. Will nodded and got his bag and began to walk to the door behind his brother but turned around and ran back to me, embracing me in a tight hug.
"I'll miss you." He whispered in my ear.
"It's only two days." I responded, repeating his words from earlier, making him chuckle.
"Two days too many." He smiled as he pulled away and went out the door. Jonathan shot me a quick smile as he closed the door behind the door, leaving me in our room, now void of any people.

Saturday 1st of December 1987

I couldn't sleep last night. I tossed and turned for hours but ultimately gave up, and began reading. Really strange for me, but it had to be done. Reading the shining was nice, it was a good story but it reminded me of Will. He left his bookmark in where he previously stopped reading before he started the book again with me so I just read until there. Then he wouldn't have to read the same stuff twice.

"Mike?" Max spoke through the door as she knocked.
"Come in." I responded.
"Can I chill in here for a bit? Lucas is at basketball practice." I nodded and she came in, making herself comfortable at the end of my bed.
"So, are you ever gonna hurt Will? Because if you do I'll personally take it upon myself to make sure you never feel happiness again." She stated, completely deadpan. Straight to the point I guess, damn.
"Well I mean I'm not planning on it." I awkwardly shuffled. Her whole demeanour changed and she grinned widely.
"Great. Now that we have that out of the way, why would you give him a fat hickey if you're both meant to be keeping your little thing a 'secret'?" She questioned. Jesus christ this woman really wasn't letting me catch a break, this whole interaction was just beginning to feel like an interrogation.

"Listen, I didn't do anything he wasn't comfortable with. I would never hurt him I swear." I explained, almost pleading with this girl even though I really didn't have to explain myself to her. That seemed to finally put her at ease and she smiled even wider than she had been, but this smile seemed genuine and not just a scare tactic.
"Glad we agree. So, why do you like him?" She asked.
"This feels like an interrogation. Why do you like Lucas?" I questioned. I didn't want to just let her get all this information out of me about my relationship, I didn't even know anything about hers.

"He's funny, and smart, and he brings out the best version of myself. Now you." She replied. I laughed a little at her determination but proceeded to answer her question.
"Well, Wills just like this amazing human being. And I guess he's just like, perfect. He inspires me to be better, and actually try. And he's just so beautiful, like there's actually nothing wrong with him." I blurted. I just let myself say whatever came out, I didn't really think about it.

"If you fixed up your grammar you could totally be a poet." She stated and I laughed, confused. She joined in with me and we just laughed together for a while, annoying what was starting to become a very nice friendship.
