The morning sun bathed Hastinapura in a golden glow, marking a new beginning for Subhadra as she embarked on her first day in her new home. The previous night, filled with love and tenderness, had been a dream, and now she awoke in Arjun's arms, feeling a profound sense of belonging and happiness.
Arjun stirred beside her, his eyes slowly opening to meet hers. He smiled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Good morning, my love."
Subhadra smiled back, her heart swelling with affection. "Good morning, Arjun."
They lay there for a few moments, basking in the warmth of each other's presence, before Arjun spoke. "Today is your first day here as my wife. Are you ready to meet everyone and start this new chapter?"
Subhadra nodded, her eyes reflecting both excitement and a touch of nervousness. "Yes, I am. I want to make a good impression and show them how much I love and respect you."
Arjun kissed her forehead. "You have nothing to worry about. They already adore you."
As they prepared for the day, Subhadra couldn't help but feel a mixture of emotions. She was eager to start her new life but also aware of the challenges that lay ahead, especially with Draupadi and Maharaj Drupad in the palace.
Subhadra dressed in a beautiful sari gifted to her by Kunti, adorned with delicate jewelry that enhanced her natural beauty. Arjun, ever the devoted husband, couldn't take his eyes off her.
"You look stunning," he said, his voice filled with admiration.
Subhadra blushed. "Thank you, Arjun. Shall we go?"
Together, they made their way to the main hall, where Kunti and the Pandavas awaited them. Kunti, regal and graceful, stood with her sons, her eyes lighting up at the sight of Arjun and Subhadra.
"Mata," Subhadra said, bowing respectfully. "It is an honor to be here with you and the family."
Kunti smiled warmly, taking Subhadra's hands in hers. "Welcome, my dear. You are a part of our family now. We are blessed to have you."
Yudhishthira stepped forward, his demeanor kind and welcoming. "Subhadra, we are delighted to have you here. You have brought joy to our brother's heart, and for that, we are grateful."
Bhima, with his usual exuberance, clapped Arjun on the back. "You have chosen well, brother. Subhadra, you are most welcome."
Nakula and Sahadeva, the youngest of the Pandavas, greeted her with smiles and words of affection. "We are happy to have you with us, Subhadra," Nakula said. "Our home is your home."
The warm reception from her new family filled Subhadra's heart with happiness. She felt embraced by their love and acceptance, but she couldn't shake the feeling of unease knowing that Draupadi and Maharaj Drupad were also present.
Later in the day, as Subhadra was helping Kunti with some household tasks, Draupadi appeared, her eyes cold and calculating. Subhadra could sense the tension and tried to remain composed.
"Subhadra," Draupadi said with a forced smile, "I see you are settling in well."
Subhadra nodded, her voice polite. "Yes, Draupadi. Everyone has been very kind and welcoming."
Draupadi's smile didn't reach her eyes. "That's good to hear. But remember, this palace has its own rules and traditions. It can be challenging for an outsider to adapt."
Subhadra met her gaze calmly. "I am willing to learn and adapt, Draupadi. I want to be a good wife and a good daughter-in-law."
Draupadi's eyes narrowed slightly. "We'll see," she said before turning and walking away.
