HEESEUNG'S POV

"Are you sure you and Steph shared that... kiss?" I ask Sunghoon who leans against the balcony's railing, his gaze fixed on the bustling city below. The city lights shimmer like a million scattered diamonds, but they hold no allure for me. My mind is still replaying the image of Sena in that black dress.

Sunghoon glances at me, a flicker of surprise in his eyes before he turns his expression into nonchalance. "Yeah, I'm sure. Do you really think I would lie about something like that?" He scoffs. "Asshole."

"She just didn't tell Sena. They always tell each other their secrets, everything. Even the stupidest things," I smile as I sip my whiskey. "Sena was shocked, to say the least. The two are probably eating ice cream and dissecting every detail of what happened," I finish, setting my glass down on the railing. "You're either going to have a chance with her or you're completely done for."

"That woman messes with my head. I'm quite literally signing my own death warrant with her," Sunghoon admits, a wry smile tugging at his lips. "But the adrenaline rush is addictive. You know it beforehand." I can't help but chuckle. There's a strange comfort in knowing I'm not the only one who's head over heels for a woman.

"I'll go check on Sena and you do something about your love life," I pat his shoulder and walk away, grabbing my phone to call my woman. "She might throw something at you but trust me, it'll be worth it." I give him a wink before disappearing outside the room and towards Sena and Steph's. Perhaps if I take her out, Steph and Sunghoon could have some time alone, but her phone keeps on ringing without an answer. Strange.

I knock softly on the door, worry and anticipation filling me. "Sena? Are you in there?" Silence greets me and for some reason, it's louder than any noise this city has ever produced. I hesitate for a moment before trying the door handle. It's unlocked. My heart drops to my stomach when I step inside and find Sena's bags scattered on the floor like a battlefield aftermath.

Panic sets in as I scan the room frantically, trying to call Sena again when I notice her phone on the bed. I grab it, the cold metal against my skin sending a shiver down my spine. Something is terribly wrong. Sena never leaves without her phone. A wave of dread washes over me when it suddenly starts ringing, an unknown number flashing across the screen.

"Sena?" I answer, my voice trembling.

There's a pause on the other end, and then a deep, menacing voice responds. "She's safe, for now." My blood runs cold and for a moment, I forget how to breathe. The voice is dangerously familiar and I look around the room, wondering if what I'm thinking of is right. "Stop looking around, you won't like what you find." A cold sweat breaks out on my forehead as I piece together the puzzle. It's her father, and cameras are planted in every corner of the room.

"What do you want?" My voice comes out low and dangerous, but I don't feel nearly as strong as I sound. My heart pounds in my chest, a rhythm echoing the frantic pace of my thoughts. "If you harm Sena in any way, I will find you. I will tear you apart and turn your life into a nightmare from which there is no escape. You will beg for mercy long before I grant it. And when I'm done, you will understand what true fear feels like. You will know that no corner of this earth is safe for you. So pray, pray that you keep her unharmed. Because if you don't, there will be nowhere you can hide from me."

"Don't threaten me, Lee Heeseung," The voice hisses, the menace in it undeniable. "It's not Sena who should be afraid. It's you." A cold, cruel laugh echoes through the line, making me want to rip the phone from my ear and shatter it against the wall. My grip tightens, knuckles whitening as I try to keep my composure. "You have no idea what I'm capable of, boy. I could destroy you and everyone you care about with a single command. But for now, I'll let you stew in your own fear. Consider this your only warning: do not cross me. Or you will see just how powerless you truly are."
