...
I know this was Fromsoftware's first-ever Soulsborne game, I am aware that the technology back then wouldn't have been able to handle some of the stuff bosses can do in the more recent Soulsborne games.
But this is my review and I'm judging it as such.

Premise:
Demon's Souls is the first ever Soulsborne game created by Fromsoft, with its remake being done by Bluepoint Games. Demon's Souls takes place in a Fantasy World that is being corrupted by Demons all created and led by The Old One, who has created a fog to cover the land of Boletaria, the main area of the game.
Demon's Souls, unlike the other Soulsborne games, has five different areas to explore. The Boletarian Palace, Stonefang Tunnel, Tower of Lateria, Shrine of Storms (FUCK THIS AREA!), and Valley of Defilement. Each area offers several bosses to be defeated and all of them need to be defeated in order to access the final area. The Old One. Each area shows off different demons for the player to fight and enemies, while also revealing some of the lore through the Demons Souls universe.
Our character is called: The Slayer of Demons, and his task is to defeat demons, claim souls, and yadda yadda, you get the point. We collect souls until we are beckoned by the Old One, and then we choose to either let it slumber or release it fully through us.
Okay... now that we are done with the premise, let's just get into the gameplay.

Gameplay:
... We've already been over this so let me make this quick.
It's basically the same gameplay as Dark Souls... but slightly worse... there is no Estus Flask instead you have to use Moongrass, which you can either buy or farm from certain enemies, the game can be a bit... clunky like Dark Souls but for me personally it only occurred within the main areas, it never really bothered me during the boss fights.... Which is what I want to talk about.

Most Bosses aren't fun
Yes... I said it, and I'm standing by that statement.
There are only a few bosses I found fun: The Penetrator, Old King Allant, Flamelurker, Fool's Idol, Maneater, and the Old Hero. The rest were either gimicks, ganks, or were just a puzzle boss that left me disappointed specifically: The Tower Knight, Dragon God, Armor Spider, and Maiden Astrea were among the ones who did were like this.
But I do want to say one thing next.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I love the Remake's design... kind of...
After I beat the game, I took a look at a comparison between the original game and the remake. The remake did so many things right but... also ruined other aspects.
The design of the game is beautiful, I'm pretty sure the remake did its best to follow the design of Elden Ring but also keep the look that Demon's Souls had with its atmosphere, so it was cool to see that.
However I am not a fan of how it changed certain areas, and enemies.
For one thing the design of the Official has completely changed, allow me to show you.
See what I mean? The metallic look of the original unnerves me more then the skin like look that they gave in the remake for the officials.

The Characters:
What did surprise me though the most were some of the characters in the game, they reminded me a lot of the NPC's from Dark Souls 2, they feel very much alive and some of them are willing to help you out in some of the harder areas of the game, and Patches returned so of course he had some traps that I got around very easily.
Some of the characters: Yuria the Witch, Ostrava of Boletaria, the Maiden in Black, and Sage Freke were some characters that I really liked or were useful to me at the time. Ostrava being the highlight for me.

Closing Thoughts
This game was clearly a passionate project for Fromsoft but I am still going to label it as 5/10...
It can be fun, it can be difficult but most of the time, it felt easy and manageable, unless it was a gank boss fight. Looking at you Planax.
And now only Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice remains, the hardest Soulsborne game... and I have yet to understand the combat system but I'll make it work.
