It is said that the dragon must have three heads, and the prince that was promised has a song. The Song of Ice and Fire. A prophetic vision by the conquering head of House Targaryen about a perpetual darkness looming over the realm, needing a King or Queen to unite them. A prophetic vision passed down from ruler to ruler. It isn't so known that once the ashes of battle have settled, a firebird will be needed to ignite them once again to face the coming winter.

House Valembry was an Ancient Valyrian House, one of the richest in Old Valyria. Their survival was purely thanks to their close relationship with their kin House Targaryen, and Daenys the dreamer's foresight of the catastrophe. They fled to their mountain pass castle in Halcomb upon dragonback, resting between two sleeping volcanoes. Their House sigil of a phoenix, otherwise known as the firebird, matched their sliver flaming locks. 'Out of the Ashes We Rise', the house words. It was said that their ancestors once had burning wings , blessed by the phoenix himself. Until they explored too far, and flew too close to a red comet, burning up entirely. The remaining member of the bloodline that survived, grew flaming silver hair, but grew no wings.

In 114 AC, Maella Valembry was born to Lady Daella Targaryen and Maeron Valembry with her violet eyes, silver and crimson hair. Daella Targaryen was sister to King Viserys and Prince Daemon Targaryen, making them royalty without a throne. Women were never considered true heirs to the Iron Throne, as history so often reflected. Still, the couple was more than happy in their home, maintaining a close relationship with the ruling branch of their family. They still had a firm grip of happenings in the realm, the mountain pass of Halcomb a vital trade route and strategic advantage for the royal family. Controlling the safest trade route from the South made them grow disgustingly wealthy, and allies of Dorne.

Being dragonlords, their dragons stayed in the mountain range, a labyrinth of caves at their disposal. Both of her parents were dragon riders, their own mounts laying the egg to be placed in Maella's cradle. Its scales were that of red and blue, hinting at its future colors. The pair would grow up together and see many sights long into their lives. Cloudjumper, she had named the male dragon with white wings lined in blue and red.

The flight north to Dragonstone was was less than a day, the maximum of a few hours. Cloudjumper was too small to fly, therefore he remained in the dragon caves for the first few of Maella's visits to Kings Landing. In their teenage years, they would not be seen apart. Maella's childhood memories of the Red Keep involved their banners flying high over their heads, or sitting with her mother or father on their dragons, flying high above their party of servants and other paraphernalia needed for a trip to King's Landing.

Being a young babe, she would sit and play with the King's children. There were all a few years older than her, the closest in age was Aemond who soon become a friend. As much as you could become a friend at that young age. The Princess Rhaenyra's son, Jacaerys was the same age as her, another companion she could remember.

Of course, nothing was as it seemed in the Red Keep. As a young girl she had learned that distance meant nothing when you had a dragon, and the walls in the Red Keep had ears. Blood ties and relations could only mean one thing; a potential marriage. Even as children, royalty were seen as pieces on a chess board, to be played for the good of the realm, or so said those on the throne. So, when she had shown to be growing a friendship with the two princes, rumors spread and reached the ears of those very people.

The three ancient Valyrian Houses would soon become involved in a deadly dance, for love or for power. But that was how all good poem's began, a simple coming of age story turned Valyrian tragedy.
