"How could I have forgotten about Family Day?"

It's seven o'clock, and Chloe woke up Red half an hour ago to clean their dorm. Although, the blue haired princess isn't letting her do much other than wipe down their desk areas and have her put her paint supplies away. Properly away, as Chloe stated when she caught Red shoving them underneath her bed.

"I mean seriously, how could I--"

"Can you stop talking about that?"

After the text from Red's mother, it dawned on Chloe that it was Auradon's Family Day, an annual tradition where students are able to host their families throughout their school day and enjoy lunch together before ending the night off with a fireworks show.

"Gosh, Charming, it smells like a chemical warfare in there," Red coughs as passes their bathroom, a strong smell of bleach overwhelms her sense of smell.

Things seemed to be changing between Red and Chloe after last night -- or this morning, rather. It was to be expected, after all, since they argued (again) and opened up to each other about their feelings towards... their friendship. Not to mention almost kissi-

No. That didn't happen. There was no way that's what it was. Chloe was probably half-asleep from exhaustion, imagining a mood that wasn't there. Sure, Red is pretty and gave her a wonderful gift, but that didn't have to mean anything. Friends give each other gifts all the time and they can argue and be mad at each other; it's normal for friends to look at each other for a second too long and blush at their kind words and gestures.

But the mood was there, and it was real. Chloe just chose to ignore it for the sake of her sanity.

"You okay, princess?" Red asks, nodding towards her.

"Just peachy." Once she finished cleaning the bathroom, she moved towards the bookshelves to dust under, between, on top, and behind each of their four shelves. She's nearly finished with their top shelf, and last one, thankfully. Chloe wasn't sure if she could handle all of this dust. "You're finished already?"

"You gave me some really simple jobs," she responds. She looks across their now spotless room before glancing up at her roommate.

Were they going to talk about this morning? Red could hardly sleep a wink because of the image that was burned too freshly in her mind -- and, although it was a brief touch, the taste of Chloe's lips still lingered and burned on hers. Her heart had never pounded so hard and fast against her chest.

But maybe they shouldn't. That would be awkward.

"I think the shelf's been dusted enough." Red said, watching the blue haired princess lightly dust the shelves a few more times.

Chloe ignored her comment. It was the perfectionist in her. Everything had to look clean and neat and tidy for their parents, especially the Queen of Hearts since she didn't know her personally.

"Done," she hums in satisfaction and jumps down from the chair, dusting it too before she placing it back at her desk. Chloe breathes in deep as she gazes around their room, happy and pleased with it. "We should do this more often. It's nice to see the room like this."

"Absolutely not. I hate waking up early and cleaning," Red immediately protests, "and you somehow successfully made me do both today."

"But, don't you feel productive?" Chloe asks.

"No," she whines. "I'm not like you."

"Like me how? In what way?"

So perfect...

Is the response Red would've given if her brain hadn't stopped her mouth from speaking. Instead, it came as a mumble of inaudible words and awkward, uncharacteristic hand movements.
