FEBRUARY 11, 2024

I nervously ring the doorbell to Leah's house, my mom getting out of the rental car a few feet behind me.

Over the course of the past few months, Mom has gotten quite familiar with the cast's parents, and now they all talk about politics and how old their wine is or whatever.

After a few seconds, I hear shoes rushing to the doorway, and Ms. Leah, Leah's mom, opens the door for us. My mom and her hug and chat for about a second before Ms. Leah attempts to give me a side hug - though I step away - and introduce herself.

"Hi, so nice to finally meet you!" she exclaims, brushing some of her hair out of her face. "Leah's said so much about you."

"Nice to meet you too, I love your hair, it's such a pretty color," I say, smiling and handing her some of the food my mom had picked up on the way here.

"Yours is absolutely gorgeous too- it's so long!"

After we talk for a bit, we head inside. The first room we enter is gorgeous, and huge too. Tables and chairs, chandeliers, mirrors, you name it.

"They're out in the back, I'll show you the door," Ms. Leah says, leading my mom to the kitchen first then me to the back sliding door.

"Oh wow," I say, looking at the massive pool- big, orange-y rocks surround it, getting higher as it reaches the back. There are different flat levels of the rocks, probably used as a diving board to jump into the pool.

Dior, Walker, and Charlie's moms are sitting on lounging chairs, each drinking their own concoction, and I have to say, Ms. Bushnell's is looking pretty tasty.

I'll see if I can bargain a sip later.

Just kidding!

Not really.

I walk up the flat-ish pathway on the rocks to meet the others- I'm glad I didn't embarrass myself by somehow slipping and falling into the pool. Even thinking about it seems quite funny, but I would never live it down.

Dior turns around to face me, putting her phone away from filming her vlog. "Oh hey! This is just for my thing-" She quickly turns the camera around to Walker and Charlie, who are doing a combination of a thumbs up and rizzing up the camera.

I laugh, and Leah comes up to me to say hi. She squeals and says, "It's been so long, crazy how weeks feel like years."

"I know exactly what you mean- everything is going so slow, I swear they kept me in school an hour longer than they needed to," I respond.

"That's so real."

Before I can say hello to Charlie, he runs off to use the bathroom, so I have to say hi to Walker without him. Ew.

Call me immature, but whatever.

I cross my arms around my chest. "Suppp..."

Frick that sounded weird.
