Many distant years ago, a major war erupted, shattering the unity of two neighboring kingdoms, Artymidian in the north and Lythoria in the south. This conflict divided them by more than just a border.

The Kingdom of Artymidian, driven by a hunger for power, sent spies across the border to monitor Lythoria's affairs. Despite their alliance, Artymidian's monarchy, led by King Cyril, sought to overthrow Lythoria for its resources and land. King Cyril also despised the cultural differences between the kingdoms and aimed to change them through conquest.

As tensions grew, King Cyril's desire for dominance intensified. He felt threatened by King Lennox's resources and land, despite ongoing trade between the kingdoms. Consumed by greed, Cyril kept his ambitions hidden from his people to avoid being overthrown.

Cyril spread lies among his people, claiming that King Lennox was the greedy one, seeking to take their resources and land. These false rumors quickly reached Lythoria, sparking preparations for war on both sides.

Armies formed along the border, playing into Cyril's plan to provoke Lennox and twist the narrative to appear as the victim. The war began when Lennox, unable to bear Cyril's taunts, struck first, just as Cyril had hoped.

The ensuing bloodshed was vast, with both kings fighting alongside their soldiers. Eventually, both kings were assassinated, but the details of their deaths remained unclear. It was assumed that Cyril killed Lennox, and in retaliation, Lennox's surviving soldiers executed Cyril. However, each soldier's account differed, leaving the truth shrouded in mystery.

The sons of the fallen kings succeeded them, and as Artymidian's forces dwindled, Cyril's son, now king, built fences along the border and called off the war. Despite this, the grudge remained, and all trade and border access were cut off from Artymidian.
For over a century, the people of Artymidian believed the false narrative that Lythoria's monarch had assassinated their king for power. The border remained forbidden, guarded day and night, isolating Artymidian from the world.

The dense woods just beyond the border obscured the view, making it impossible to see what lay beyond. Over time, the story of what happened became more skewed among the Artymidian people, but their rulers knew the truth to some extent. Lythoria, aware of Artymidian's corruption, warned its people to stay away from the border without much word on why as the memory of it all diminished as the years grew further.

Centuries later, Princess (Y/N) was born in Lythoria to King Augustus and Queen Eleanor.
