It was a dark and windy night, a storm as picked up from the desert of vacuo but strangely someone ran through said storm as if it was nothing but a small breeze, a pair of purple lilac eyes covered with goggles. The women held a baby that was crying loudly, the wind that blowed was loud, a screeching sound coming from afar. "It's okay sweetie... I know. You're scared. Mommy is too. But that mean women will never let that women take you away from her. Even if it meant a keeping you away from your daddy and your sisters. He cannot know about you, your sisters can't know either." The women said as she continued to run through the desert, seeming out of breathe until a tail appeared and knocked her to the side. The baby cried louder as a women appeared, pure pale white skin, completely black eyes with red, red veins running along her cheeks and arms, she was looking down at the women as a deathstalker that haded more than three stingers appeared by her side, the creature making the loud screeching. "You think you can run from me summer maiden? You're just unable to hide for long." The strange pale women said as she stood over the mother, her aura was flickering until it broke and she fell exhausted. "I will never give you the power of the summer maiden, you'll be the last person I think of." The mother retaliated, grabbing a piece of what seemed to be a switch blade, then taking off her goggles and took out a picture from her pocket and placed the items on top of the crying a baby, using the knife to take her own life, the pale women in shock and enraged by the mothers action of sacrificing herself and now unable to gain said power.

Present time...

Jewel was in the kingdom of vale, she was making her way to a dust shop but strange sounds came from inside, a old man was worried as he gathered the crystals and a man with a cane and strange hat just stood there and a few henchman were gathering dust. Before jewel walked in she used two hair clips to hold her hears down to seem human even though it hurt, but she eventually walked in and went to the back of the store. The hat man caught a glimpse of jewel and was a bit of shock as if having a moment of silence. "Little red? But with green hair?" The man said in question, one of the henchman with a red sword haded a look of shock as if also having a moment until he walked towards jewels with a red sword. Just then the same henchman flew out the window which shattered follow by what seemed to be jewel with one fox tail now. "A semblance huh? But different." The hat man said and rolled his eyes, taking a quick puff of a cigar and jumping out the same window that was shattered. "Well little green riding hood, you can change your hair and clothes to look different, but I know it's you." The hat man said as he just spun his cane around, but out of pure innocents jewel grabbed his cigarette and took it out first before wacking his head with the side of her spear. He stumbled back and was a bit shocked by her sudden action but then he just aimed his cane. "A new weapon wouldn't even help you. And what happened to your red hood?" He said before jewel removed one end of her spear and replaced it with a sickle, splitting it apart into nunchucks. "What hood?" She said finally and then raced towards the hat man as a motorbike was racing towards the two and who ever was riding it threw a punch at the man's back before jewel could land a blow and the sickle hit the strangers handlebar and was pulled back and the biker fell off the bike. When the two were in the ground a yellow hair girl looked up and saw jewel just sitting up and grabbing her head, groaning a bit. "Ruby? What are you doing out here? I thought you had detention." The yellow hair asked until jewel's hairclips she used to hide her ears came off and her ears were raised almost instantly which caused the yellow hair to raise her eyebrows and eyes widening in shock. "You're not ruby... my sister... doesn't have Faunus ears..." the yellow hair said hesitantly but then a shine of jewel's goggles caught her attention almost instantly and she snatched them off of jewel's ear. "Hay! Those are my m-" "where did you get these!? They belong to my old baby sitter! They even have her initials" yellow hair shouted, grabbing jewel's arm and lifted it up, the yellow hair's eyes turning from lilac purple to pure red with anger. Jewel panicked and grabbed her goggles back and put them on her head correctly. "What do you mean baby sitter? These are my mom's goggles!" Jewel said and she quickly grabbed her spear and pointed it at the yellow hair who was in shock of the jewel just said. "No way, she couldn't have been pregnant with you by the time... I think. Sure my dad liked her but to then getting her pregnant!?" The yellow hair stomped her foot and jewel winced a bit as her ankle was twisted and swollen from the incident. The yellow hair sighed an rubbed the back of their neck, but then when she glanced over to the side she saw a picture, the picture jewel has been carrying her whole life, and right beside it was the very knife... "wait a minute..." the yellow hair picked up the knife and picture, "she used this knife to peel apples when I got snacky... and the engravings on this knife... who's suppose to be J?" She said as she raised an eyebrow and examined the picture, flipping it to the back to see jewel's name. "Those belong to my mom. Give those back right now, they aren't yours." Jewel trembled and her voice shaky as she spoke, too weak to even hold her spear up. "You... really are Samantha's daughter." Yang said who was in shock and quickly wrapped her arm around jewel for support who was about to fall. "I guess it's time for a family meeting. I'm taking you to patch, alright? Besides, it's my fault you got like this anyways. I'm yang by the way." She said and started to walk away with jewel. The hat man and his henchman already disappeared. In a forest that was covered in snow a girl with a red cape that seemed to be the same age as jewel stood at the front door with a middle age man. "Yang! There you are! Who's this?" The red cape girl said but the middle age man just stared at jewel in shock and wide eyed. "Samantha? Is that you?" He asked but it confused yang, jewel, and the red cape girl. "We'll just talk about this later. Is uncle qrow already inside? I texted for everyone." Yang said until a dusty man came out, qrow. After catching a glimpse he widened his eyes and slowly scoffed. "So you really are alive huh? Fourteen years five months, eight day and three hour. It's nice to see you agin jewel." Qrow said as he held a cup of what seemed to be whisky but it activated jewel's innocents and she grabbed it out of his hands and poured it in the snow. The elder blond, yang, and the red cake girl were jn a bit of shock. How could he know her? The three thought to themselves and looked at qrow. After inside, the five each sat in a chair in the kitchen at the dining table, qrow was explaining everything. "It all started like this," he grabbed a bottle of whisky as he sat at the edge of a table and sighed. "Jewel. I was on a mission to watch over your mom. Back then she was the former summer maiden." He glanced at ruby and yang who were also listening in and sighed, and looked at the blond man who jewel learned to be Taiyang, her father. "You three go outside, or to your rooms. This is matters between me and my niece." Qrow said and the three just groaned, also wanting to hear the story but they left to their rooms. "Get to it. Where's my mom. Why was I taken away and left to live in vacuo if I could've had this here in vale, here in patch." Jewel said as she just grabbed the whisky bottle and walked to the sink and poured it in the drain. "She was being hunted. I was suppose to watch her but she ran away when pregnant with you. And once she had you she was already in the desert of vacuo. But when I found her she was dead, and you were still alive so all she left you were some of her things like her goggles, that picture, her knife, an-" "her spear." Jewel said as she grabbed it from her side that was split in the middle as nunchucks. "Who was after my mom? Why did she die?" "Calm down kiddo. I'll tell ya, but not the name. Since Samantha was the summer maiden she had to find a way to keep you safe and the someone was after her power so your mom took her own life, it's no question who she probably passed it on to, probably someone who she truly knows." Qrow said as he looked at the empty bottle of whisky and stood up. "I can see my friend taught you well," qrow said which irritated jewel who was gritting her teeth. "Look. You can either go back to vacuo and forget about your real family, but remember you might be on that certain someone's list, or you can just stay here and give up this search of your, and stay here.." Qrow said but was met jewel's spear to his face which made him chuckle, but in her eyes she was completely hurt about the information. Jewel started to break down into tears, dropping her spear and then crow just walked over and hugged her with a sigh. "I get it kid, I lost people too. To be honest, it was your mom who I was suppose to protect but I failed just by losing her in that sand storm." Qrow said and slowly reached for his whisky but saw it was already being poured in the drain. In the purest of nights at beacon academy ozpin was standing close to a window facing the same direction where patch was located. "Jewel hopes... an interesting girl for a mother to have given life too... yet Samantha killed herself but didn't pass her power onto her daughter." Ozpin said as he took a sip from a coffee cup but only a few drops came out. Back with jewel she was sitting outside crying, sitting on the snow and her nose was red, her cheeks stained with tears, her eyes were red, her cheeks puffy. All she thought about was the information qrow has given here before he left patch, she lost the will to fight and was scared of the truth. Ruby, the red capes girl jewel learned the name of was watching from the front door and walked over as it started to snow. "Hay jewel? I was wondering if you wanted to come inside? Dad is making hot chocolate, and you also might get buried under all of this snow too and catch a cold with those clothes you're wearing." Ruby said as she chuckled by her own joke and sat beside jewel. She held something in her hands, a green hood, and only a hood that haded two clips, the side of the hood having a clover. "Your mom left this the day she left and never came back, that's what yang said. She thought you might want it." Ruby said and without hesitation put it on jewel with a bit of struggle. Yang and taiyang were watching from the window to see Ruby's attempt of bonding, jewel's head slightly twitched upwards and slowly stood up. "What's hot chocolate?" She asked, slightly intrigued about try a new beverage. Taiyang and yang high-five and cheered. After what seemed to be exciting fun for jewel with her family she was not in a attic, her new room and was cleaning it, wearing her goggles to avoid the dust getting in her eyes and she used the scarf to avoid inhaling the dust into her lungs. Taiyang came up into the attic, peeking inside to see how fast the area was already cleaned, a mattress that had been used sitting in a corner but it haded patches, taiyang finally sat on the edge of the entrance and smiled. "I never seen this place so cleared out before. It usually takes me ruby and yang three days tops to clean it. Nice job." Taiyang said as he climbed into the attic and saw some of the boxes opened and saw family pictures that were never seen hanging in the walls of the attic, and then he pulled up a album with a grin. "I was thinking, maybe I should catch you up on some things you've missed since you've been away for fourteen years." Taiyang said but before he could open the photo album just slightly ruby and yang shouted and raced up the attic's steps.the next day came, yang and ruby already left to head back to beacon but jewel followed behind. "So. What's your business at beacon huh J?" Yang asked as she stopped in place an turned to face jewel who was now confused at the sudden nickname. "W-well, a few days ago I sorta stopped a white fang rally... on my own...... then ozpin showed up and sorta... Y'know... invite me to join next semester...... but then I got this weird message from him on my scroll." Jewel said, pulling up her text messages JJ her scroll.
