Chapter 24

Pov Dan:

When we were back on the island, it was already light out. As we sneaked away, I noticed how the people began to load all their belongings into the steel bird. Later, it turned out that they had completely left our island for whatever reason. In the hideout, Mia approached us with tears in her eyes and hugged us. "There you are!" Mia exclaimed, throwing her arms around me. When she spotted Xaver, she started crying tears of joy. Mia looked into Xaver's arms and saw Charlie. The excitement was practically written on her forehead. "Oh my God! Xaver! When? How?" Xaver chuckled a bit and said, "The night before Dan and the others arrived, he just couldn't wait. If I hadn't remembered your advice, it would have gone horribly wrong." Mia giggled and hugged Charlie. "What’s his name?", she asked, stroking Charlie's cheek. "Charlie.", I replied. Mia looked at me with a meaningful smile and said, "Charlie, huh? That's a beautiful name. I think I'll keep him." 
"W-What?", I asked in shock and laughed. The other members of the pack came to us and rushed over to Xaver. They were overjoyed to have their Alpha back. 

A few months later, almost everything was back to normal. The camp was rebuilt, and daily life returned. 
"I can't do this!" I shouted in panic, pacing the room. "Dan, just calm down!", Mia tried to explain to me. I nervously ran my hands through my hair and took a deep breath. "What if I do something wrong?" Mia took my hands and looked at me seriously. "Dan, everything will be fine. You love him, right?" I nodded slightly. "See, and he loves you too. It will be perfect, trust me." I nodded again and took a deep breath. Soon after, the sign came that I should get ready. "Okay, see you soon. Remember, you can do this!" Mia said goodbye and left me alone. One last time, I looked at myself in the mirror. My white suit fit flawlessly, and my hair looked good too. Today was the big day. A knock sounded at the door, and for me, it was the sign to go out. With the bouquet in hand, I walked down the aisle, passing by the others to the altar. The sky was bright blue, beautiful flowers were everywhere, and all the people sitting in the chairs were looking at me. Wedding music played, and I felt myself getting more nervous with each step. Reaching the front row of chairs, I looked once more at Mia, who was holding Charlie and smiling encouragingly at me. I smiled briefly back at her and then looked at my partner. Xaver stood in a fine black suit at the altar, looking happily at me. I stood beside him; we smiled at each other and then both looked at Jack, who was our best man. "You look beautiful.", Xaver whispered to me, and I blushed. "You too.", I shyly replied. The music slowly faded, and Jack began his speech. "We have gathered here today to celebrate the engagement of our Alpha Xaver and his partner Dan and to unite them in marriage. It has been two years since they confessed their love to each other. Since then, they have been inseparable, overcoming the toughest obstacles together, arguing, laughing, and loving each other. Not even the attack from the humans could break their bond. Now the moment has come for them to solidify their connection and enter the bonds of marriage. Therefore, I ask you, Xaver, do you take Dan to be your lawful mate, promising to remain faithful and be there for him at all times?" Xaver turned to me and said proudly, "Yes, I do." Jack then asked me, "And do you, Dan, take Xaver to be your lawful mate, remaining faithful to him at all times and standing by him in every difficult situation?" 
"I do." Xaver and I exchanged wedding rings and gazed at each other lovingly. "Xaver, you may now kiss Dan." Xaver placed his lips on mine and kissed me gently while holding my hands in his. The pack clapped and cheered. As we broke apart, we both had a bit of color in our cheeks and smiled at each other. 
Later in the evening, we held a party to celebrate our wedding. I turned my back to the pack and threw the bouquet into the crowd. I didn't know how bad I was at throwing, but somehow, the bouquet hit Jack, who was standing next to a group of excited girls. We laughed at the sight of Jack's confused face. Then Xaver and I cut the wedding cake together, and everyone cheered. We had an incredible amount of fun. Mia took some great photos with her camera, both funny and serious. "Say cheese!", Mia shouted. Xaver and I posed together with Charlie in our arms and kissed. After Mia took the picture, she showed it to us, and I had to say that it looked really good. 
After the celebration, we entrusted Charlie to Mia and Jack for the night so we could spend our wedding night undisturbed. Xaver and I fell onto the bed, laughing. My partner was lying over me, looking directly into my eyes. "I love you, Dan.", he confessed. I gave him a glowing kiss and replied, "I love you too, Xav." We kissed each other passionately, and soon our kiss became more demanding. 
Now my life was truly perfect. I had a wonderful partner I could rely on at any time, and together we had a great son. Come what may, no one would ever be able to take that away from us.
