Jerome slowly woke, finding himself in a rather strange situation, His head was pounding, but he also felt cold, his face was sticky, and his nose felt tender, The last thing he remembered was playing football during gym class... But he now woke up inside the boy's locker room, lying on a wooden bench staring up at the ceiling. He tries to move but it hurts too much to move more than an inch or two,

"Shh shh shh, don't try to move, it's okay," the sweet voice of Marceline speaks up,

Jerome's eyes were unfocused and his vision was a little blurry but when his eyes cleared he saw Marceline, sitting on the bench with him so his head rests in her lap her thighs below his head, her hands softly holding him, "Wha...happened?"

"One of the boys tripped you up, you had a nasty fall. Bumped your head and you got a nosebleed."

Jerome groaned and placed a hand on his forehead, wincing in pain as he felt a bruise, He tried to sit up,

But Marceline gently pushed him back down, keeping him resting on her lap, "Don't get up, you should rest"

"Where's the school nurse?"

"She came by, Nurse said you'll have a few bruises but nothing too bad" she explained, "But then there was apparently a problem in the drama department so she ran off. Told me to look after you till lunchtime,"

"Oh... thanks," He looked up at her and spoke weakly his head still throbbing in pain. "How bad do I look?"

"Still very handsome," she chuckled,

Jerome chuckled as he heard her compliment, smiling faintly despite the pain. "You really think I'm handsome?"

"I'm sure all the girls will want to kiss your bruises better" she smiled stroking his hair softly making sure to keep the ice pack on his bruised head,

Jerome chuckled again, A hint of shyness crept into his voice as he spoke, "Maybe there's only one girl whose kiss I want..."

"oh? And whose kisses might they be?"

Jerome looked up at Marceline and smiled, trying to ignore the beating of his heart in his chest. He spoke softly, almost shyly "The beautiful and kind girl whose legs I'm currently resting on..."

she chuckled and she leant down and pressed the gentlest kiss to the tip of his nose,

Jerome's eyes widened, a blush spread across his face, and he felt his heart pounding even harder in his chest. He stared up at her, unable to speak for a moment before he managed to speak again, "Y- You... You actually kissed me..."

"you asked for a kiss," she shrugged "Why wouldn't I give kisses to the poor injured boy,"

Jerome chuckled and smiled warmly, his heart skipping a beat. He reached up and gently took Marceline's hand, intertwining his fingers with hers. "I guess I did ask, didn't I? But I was kind of hoping for a different kind of kiss..."

"oh?"

Jerome's face turned red as he spoke "I- I mean... The kind of kiss that wouldn't just be on the nose... The kind of kiss that's meant for the lips..."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to hurt yourself if you get too excited Jerome"

Jerome chuckled, his heart racing with nervousness and excitement. He tried to speak, but his words came out jumbled and his voice trembled slightly "Y-Yes I'm sure I want that kind of kiss... And I won't get too excited, I promise. I'll be good, I swear..."

she smiled and stroked his cheek freshly cleaned from the dirt after his fall, she moved and leant down giving his lips a soft, slow and tender kiss,

Jerome's eyes widened, surprised by the feeling of Marceline's lips on his. But he quickly relaxed, enjoying the kiss. He closed his eyes and reached up with one hand, gently placing it on the back of her neck, holding her close and deepening the kiss. It was soft and slow, like a quiet promise of something more,
