Dev stumbled into the room, feeling the weight of the world pressing down on his shoulders. The argument between Suhana and Aayush had reached a fever pitch, and he could no longer ignore the rising tide of tension that swirled around them. They were standing by the large window, their voices sharp and penetrating, cutting through the air with a force that made Dev’s head spin.

“I can’t believe you’re still insisting on this,” Suhana’s voice was icy, her eyes flashing with frustration. “Every decision you make has to be about proving a point, doesn’t it? It’s never about what’s best for us, just about winning.”

Aayush’s face was set in a grim line, his voice low but intense. “And I suppose you have all the answers? I’m trying to do what’s right, and you’re only interested in tearing me down. Maybe if you actually listened instead of just waiting to argue, we could find a solution.”

Dev felt his vision blur as he listened to their exchange. The intensity of their voices was like a physical force, squeezing the air out of the room. He could see the hurt in Suhana’s eyes and the weariness in Aayush’s posture. Each word they exchanged seemed to chip away at the fragile veneer of their relationship, leaving Dev with an overwhelming sense of helplessness.

“Enough!” Suhana’s voice cracked, her composure faltering. “I’m tired of this. I’m tired of fighting all the time. It feels like we’re stuck in this endless loop of anger and misunderstanding. Can’t we just take a moment to breathe?”

Aayush’s shoulders slumped, and he looked away, his expression softening. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe we’ve been so caught up in our own arguments that we’ve forgotten why we’re even fighting in the first place.”

Dev’s vision narrowed as he tried to focus on the exchange, his head pounding with the effort. The emotional weight of their argument seemed to merge with his own sense of fatigue. He staggered slightly, his knees buckling under him.

“I just—” Dev’s voice was a whisper, barely audible over the rising tension. “I can’t… I need a moment…”

Suhana and Aayush’s argument came to an abrupt halt as they noticed Dev’s condition. They turned towards him, their expressions shifting from anger to concern.

“Dev!” Suhana exclaimed, rushing over to him. “Are you okay?”

Aayush was at his side in an instant, helping to steady him. “What’s wrong? Did you faint?”

Dev nodded weakly, trying to clear his foggy mind. “I just… I couldn’t handle it. The arguing… it’s too much.”

Suhana looked at Aayush, her eyes reflecting a mixture of relief and guilt. “Maybe we should… maybe we need to talk this out somewhere quieter. For everyone’s sake.”

Aayush nodded in agreement, his face showing signs of remorse. “Yeah, let’s figure this out. We need to be calm, not just for ourselves but for Dev too.”

As they guided Dev to a nearby chair and began to talk more softly, the room seemed to settle into a tentative peace. The tension didn’t vanish entirely, but it was replaced by a shared sense of concern and the hope of reconciliation. In that quiet space, the arguments of the past seemed to fade, replaced by the beginning of a new understanding.

Sonakshi entered the room just as Dev was sitting down, a look of distress etched on his face. Her gaze immediately fell on Suhana and Aayush, who were standing awkwardly by the window, their faces painted with concern. The air was thick with an uneasy silence, broken only by the soft rustling of the curtains and the muted hum of the city outside.

“What happened here?” Sonakshi's voice was sharp, carrying a tone that brooked no argument. Her eyes were fixed on Suhana and Aayush, the protective concern for her husband mingling with a growing frustration.

Suhana opened her mouth to explain, but Sonakshi cut her off. “Don’t bother,” she said, her voice rising. “I’ve been listening to you both argue like children, and now look what’s happened. Dev’s not well, and it’s clear to me that your constant bickering has taken its toll.”

Aayush shifted uncomfortably, his face reddening under Sonakshi’s scrutiny. “We didn’t mean for this to happen. We were just—”

“Just what?” Sonakshi interrupted, her voice tinged with anger. “Just being selfish? Just ignoring the fact that there’s a person here who’s been deeply affected by your behavior? You’re supposed to be adults. You should know better than to let your disputes spiral out of control like this.”

Suhana looked down, her anger replaced by guilt. “I’m sorry, mumma We didn’t realize how much this was affecting papa.”

Sonakshi’s expression softened slightly, but her tone remained firm. “I know it’s not easy, but you both need to understand that there are consequences to your actions. Dev is part of this family too, and when you fight like this, it impacts everyone. You need to find a way to resolve your issues without turning it into a spectacle for the rest of us to endure.”

Dev, who had been sitting quietly, took a deep breath and spoke softly, “Sonakshi, I appreciate your concern, but we need to handle this calmly. I don’t want anyone to feel blamed for what happened.”

Sonakshi nodded, her expression a mix of determination and compassion. “I understand, Dev. I just want things to be better, for all of us. Maybe we need to take a step back and reassess how we’re dealing with our conflicts. For now, let’s focus on making sure Dev is alright.”

She turned back to Suhana and Aayush, her tone softer but still carrying an undercurrent of urgency. “You both need to take responsibility for your part in this. Find a way to communicate without letting your emotions rule the conversation. It’s not just about being right; it’s about finding a way forward together.”

Suhana and Aayush nodded in agreement, their expressions showing a mixture of regret and resolve. The argument that had once seemed so all-consuming now felt like a distant concern compared to the immediate need to care for Dev.

As Sonakshi helped Dev settle into a more comfortable position, Suhana and Aayush moved to a quieter corner of the room, their voices low and thoughtful. The tension in the room had shifted from conflict to reflection, a reminder of the fragility of their family dynamic and the importance of understanding and support.
