As they entered the house, Taylor's phone buzzed with an incoming call from Travis. She felt a pang of longing and sadness, but she knew better than to reach for it. Andrea's steely gaze followed her, a clear indication that there would be no distractions allowed.

" Go to your room," Andrea ordered, her voice cold and authoritative. "I need to deal with this."

Taylor's eyes flicked to her mother, a mixture of anger and sadness in her gaze. "Mom, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I just wanted—"

"No excuses," Andrea interrupted sharply. "You've made your choices, and now you'll face the consequences."

Taylor took a deep breath, her face flushed with frustration. "Mom please, can't we just talk?"

Andrea's face was stern, her eyes narrowed. "No, Taylor. You've made your choice. Go to your room and stay there. We'll discuss this later."

With a heavy sigh, Taylor ascended the stairs to her room, her footsteps echoing with each step. She stormed into her room, slamming the door behind her. Her frustration and anger were boiling over. Her mom's reaction had been harsh, and she felt trapped.

Moments later, her phone buzzed loudly on her nightstand. The screen lit up with a call from Travis, and Taylor's heart skipped a beat.

She rushed over to the nightstand and answered the call, her voice barely concealing her anxiety. "Travis? I'm so glad you called. I—"

Before she could continue, she heard the sound of her mom's footsteps approaching rapidly. Panic surged through her as she tried to end the call and hide the phone. But it was too late. Andrea burst into the room, her eyes immediately falling on the phone in Taylor's hand.

"Who are you talking to?!" Andrea shouted, her voice cutting through the air like a knife.

Taylor's face flushed with a mix of fear and frustration. "Mom, I just needed to talk to Travis. Please—"

Andrea reached out and yanked the phone from Taylor's grasp, her eyes blazing with anger. "You're grounded, Taylor! No more excuses. You're not allowed to have contact with anyone outside this house."

Taylor felt a wave of helplessness as her mom turned on her heel and stormed out of the room, the phone clutched tightly in her hand. Taylor sank onto her bed, feeling the weight of the punishment and the separation from Travis pressing down on her.

After a while, she paced around her room, thoughts racing. The punishment felt suffocating, and she needed to talk to Travis. Glancing at her desk, she noticed her laptop. It was a long shot, but maybe she could use it to call him.

Taylor quickly opened her laptop and logged in, her heart racing as she tried to connect with Travis through a video call. Just as she was about to hit the call button, she heard her mom's footsteps again. Panic set in, and she quickly shut her laptop and shoved it under her bed. Her mom's voice grew louder as she reached Taylor's door.

Andrea flung the door open, her gaze sweeping over the room. "And no using the laptop either. Give it to me."

Taylor's eyes widened in disbelief. "How did you know._"

" Taylor, stop talking and give me the laptop."Andrea said frustrated.

" How am i supposed to study without it?"

Andrea's expression hardened. "Taylor Alison, you and I both know you won't study right now. Hand it over."

Taylor hesitated, feeling a lump form in her throat. "Mom, please. I just need to—"
