Hacking, slashing, and bloodshed were the only things going on for the past few days. This was the only option so far in the hopes of improving this sword Luciela had given you. She pinpointed the area where Yoma and rogue Awakened Beings are located. She was allowing you to go after them and kill them. Well, that was the plan but three times out of ten, Ophelia would intervene and slaughter it before you. They were eventually turned into a race against time who could kill the next target.
The more Yoma blood bathed into the sword gaining more strength. You felt it could become as powerful as Rebellion in the future or even more with the new idea in mind. Only time would tell with you as the sun dived to allow the moon to rise. Everyone was lying near the campfire and you noticed how Galatea, Ophelia, and Luciela had adjusted to their new bodies. They would need some rest before they could fully embrace their new capabilities. It seems being turned into Chimeras brought out more of their human sides from their past.
Sleeping on the ground you were dreaming about the fight against Mundus before and going through all the weapons you lost. All your trusty weapons have just gone down the drain from the demon absorbing everything. Eventually, you wake up from this and feel annoyed from going down memory lane. Muttering it was the worst time to go down that path. As you attempted to sit up you felt the familiar weight of someone on you. Not even having to look down to see Ophelia's hair braid.
Snuggling up to you like a snake looking for warmth, you had noticed Ophelia was quite cuddly after all this. She was still pretty murderous and unpredictable. Yet when it came to you it was like Ophelia did a 180 and would be relaxed. . . and cuddly. Just as you were about to shake her off and awaken her, you stopped to hear something coming from her. Still asleep you could Ophelia sniffling. Before long you felt the warmth of tears on your exposed skin soon listening to the former Number Four muttering in her sleep--just listening to her made you for once feel bad for Ophelia.
Ophelia: Brother. . . Don't go. . . Please. . . Don't go. . . Please. . . I'm begging you!
Just hearing this from Ophelia allows you to see a new side of the deranged warrior, realizing she was just a fallen or destroyed soul. You understood losing someone close to you in the form of your mother. But she most likely lost her whole family in this world. Perhaps this obsession with bloodshed and Awakened Beings was just a facade or a mask to hide her true emotions. Soon you could feel Ophelia trembling and shaking like a frightened child.
Deciding to do something about it, you did the only thing you could right now. You wrapped an arm around the shaking woman, softly rubbing her back to help appease her nightmare. The shaking would eventually subside and Ophelia was relaxing. Seeing this you were about to try to go back to sleep when you heard a small whisper from Ophelia.
Ophelia: Thank you.
~ East: Days Later ~
East from your location there had been a battle with a clear winner taking their time to savor their meal. Riful's location had been destroyed, there was almost nothing left after she transformed. A volley of tendrils slapped at everything before her, Riful hopefully took out the opponent before her. Realizing this was NOT an opponent she should take lightly. Riful realized after watching what they had done to Dauf.
Standing above the debris and ruins of her home, Riful scanned the area for her target. Deep down she was seething from what she witnessed. All this thing did was touch Dauf and the next thing that happened was watching her "man" shrink down and become a wrinkled raisin. She could not sense the location of her adversary but hoped he was dead. This feeling was short-lived when Riful felt one of her tendrils be ripped off like paper.
Riful looked down to see them sending more of her tendrils down at him, but all missing their mark. Mundus was standing there did not move and allowed them to come flying toward him. He glared at the tendrils as if telling them not to lay a finger on him. The tendrils seemed to oblige and moved away slamming into the ground beside him. This was starting to annoy Riful as she continued slamming her tendrils down. But none would touch the Demon King as he shook his head.
Mundus: Are you going to continue this meaningless attack, look over there toward your friend. See the condition he is in right now. You will be facing a similar fate.
Riful: Do you think threatening me is going to save you?! I am going to--AH!
Mundus took one step before appearing before Riful and smashing one of his fists into the Abyssal One's jaw, if she was human her jaw would have been gone. Riful's ribbon-like body went sailing from yards away from Mundus, who proceeded to follow. Uncharacteristically whistling he went over toward the beaten Abyssal One. The punch not only dazed Riful but left her incapacitated, just right for Mundus.
Going over toward Riful's face Mundus grabbed her face and slammed it into the ground before beginning to drain the Yoki and life out of her. Riful could feel her body slowly shrinking to the point she was returning to her human form. But as Mundus continued to siphon away at her powers, he stopped. Holding the now-human Riful by the neck before dropping her to the ground.
Riful could only look up toward the figure with fear in her eyes, for the first time in so long she felt fear. The once well-known ruler of the East was now powerless against this being before her. Riful had no idea what they were planning to do next as Mundus knelt before her, looking into Riful's eyes with his burning ones.
Mundus: I've been thinking, that doing things like this might take too long, I believe I need a pair of eyes to prepare for ruling this world. And since you seem to be one of the most powerful beings here, you can be quite helpful to me.
Riful:. . . . What?
Mundus: You will obey my commands and words, the only reason you live is because you might have some use for me. If you join me now you will be rewarded in my new world. But if you refuse only the fiery pits of Hell will await you. So now do we have a deal or not?
Mundus extended a hand toward Riful with the latter immediately taking it. Fear overriding her thoughts and the images of a fiery hell lingered in her mind. This was her only way out now, no longer was she an Abyssal preparing for a turf war against the others. Riful wondered who could defeat this being because she feared even Isley would fall to this one. If no one could stop this monster this world would be in ruins.
~ Meanwhile ~
Stretching your legs you felt quite refreshed from your sleep last night. You quickly got up to walk making sure Ophelia stayed asleep. You wanted to go out and hunt for some Awakened Beings or Yoma without her beating you to the goal. The others were still asleep so this was the perfect opportunity to utilize your new strength.
Examining the claymore in your hand, the blade changing from a grey to a deep obsidian. It was beginning to transform into a new weapon and soon Mundus would be defeated for good. But as you went deeper into the woods you felt the presence of someone. It did not feel like one of your new allies but felt like a Claymore and a strong one. But soon that presence vanished like it was never there. Listening to the familiar sound of metal you turned to see the Claymore before you all. Though they were not someone you knew, there was a strange familiar presence about them.
Y/N: I'm guessing you're not here to talk, but I can assure you I don't have time to speak.
